I'd bet my last quarter that 90% of those folks would love a moderate republican to support, rather than being asked to wander around with doom and gloom in their hearts and minds.

Nothing that has been done will achieve what I've emphasized in your post.

The US should have done what Taiwan did. Take the best aspects of what Japan, the UK, Canada, Germany, and France did... combine them, and bam. THEN and ONLY then would we have a good health care system costs-wise. Tort reform may help, but it wouldn't do anything. JUST tort reform won't do shit - and JUST making everyone buy health insurance definitely won't do shit. When a hospital has to pay a 1000% and higher mark-up on a bunch of things, there's an issue. Yet Wal-Mart barely even puts a mark up on their Plasma TV's.

That's because they strangulate their suppliers. :) We used to work for a company that supplied Walmart with product, so I know this from first-hand experience. If hospitals had the kind of bargaining ability that Walmart has, would things change?

Yeah, I'm aware of that. A friend of the family's family owned a chemical plant that supplied the regional Wal-Marts with a lot of their soap(what they use in the break rooms, etc) and they were forced to pretty much break even.. ended up going out of business. :helpme

To answer your question: Maybe, but I doubt it. That'd take every hospital standing together.

There are people that live in reality, and then there's Tom.
