The Apple store can be as addictive to adults as Disney is to kids!

another thing, why would i want to go into crowded store when i have everything here on the internet and no sales peeps pitching their warranties and other bs.

although i'm no mac fan boy, i can agree they do seem to have their shit together.

its a iphone type device, not a real iphone. before they had little PDA devices that did that now they have a glorified itouch.

Enter our world the world of mac!

JustDaveXxx 05-04-2010 12:33 PM

i got 3 macs. Been on mac for 6 years. Just picked up the Mac Book Pro 17inch i7(it flys!). Dont own an Iphone or Ipod and im no fan boy.

I know when i turn them on and need to get my shit done, it gets done. Zero crashes, zero issues, zero hardware conflicts, zero software conflicts. They go to work strait away.

Was on a PC for 18 years knew how to build them and fix them. Any issue i had or my friends had, i was able to fix it. Was never a problem. But even though i knew how to fix them why should i have to always fix them? Shouldn't they just work? And work with no issues or conflict? Felt like the PC repair man to all of my friends.

When i needed an editing system that was solid, thats when i got into Macs. I Figured why all of these people love macs the 1st day. Everything worked so well together and zero crashes. Figured out how to edit Final Cut video in 2 days and never felt so good with any purchase as i did with this Mac purchase.

I short all of my Macs work when i need them to. No waiting, no conflicts no bullshit errors, just strait to work. In some eyes i paid way too much for what i got, but then again what is my time worth?:2 cents:

No, I'm bettting it was his iPhone. No reason Apple would use a 3rd party wireless device if the iPhone can't do it.

There's a couple CC swipers and apps for swiping and charging cards so you can run your business and transactions on your iPhone.

EDIT: Case in point - http://www.readwriteweb.com/start/20...r-1-dollar.php

Apple excels at two things, marketing and design. Their followers are like fucking packrats, they'll pay way too much for whatever shiny new toy Apple releases just to have it, because it is marketed so damn well.

cheekycherry 05-04-2010 01:11 PM

how different the experience is in the UK...

I'd rather buy a Mac from a McDonalds employee, they'd probably know more about them.

Plus the products are so easy to control even my grandpa would be able to use it.

I would love to spend a few months at their marketing department. Every apple product is perfectly presented from the box it is in to the device itself and the store they sell it at. It all looks slick.

They ARE idiots. I openly recommend buying Macs to just about anyone I know, they are computers with training wheels, and are perfect for people with no clue. With a 7.5% marketshare of the PC market, it's just not worth targeting Macs for malicious attacks. You can bet your ass if they held a 90%+ marketshare they'd be getting hit like fucking hell. Kind of funny they have 7.5% share of the overall PC market, with a 91% share of the $1000+ PC market.

If you're too fucking stupid to keep your computer clean, or to set things up for yourself, by all means spend the extra money on a Mac.

Ammmmmmmmen. Buy the macs you morons! Just stop telling me that they are better and that I'm silly for not using one.

If I had to use a Mac today, I'd probably throw it out the window. I learned PC's when I was like 6 years old, so I have something like 18 years of experience nerding the hell out in Windows. Having to learn a new setup that's designed for clueless hipsters who want to email their friends pictures of last nights wicked rad no-alcohol allowed party, would infuriate me.

For PC lovers, you can always run Windows on Mac. From what I understand it works quite well if you need it.

I think Apple intentionally draws the line between the (ignorant) consumer and the enthusiast. You will never meet an Apple person that cares about the hardware inside their pretty little box. This is for the people who think higher price = higher quality.

First, I went to the an Apple store. Nice, bright, clean, cool, tech. CROWDED!! Lots and lots of people on both floors. I found what I wanted right away (Airport, a "wired-to -wireless" converter, and a Time Capsule which is a combination 1 TB external hard disk and 802.11n wireless router. Neat.

The tech answered all of my questions right away. He knew everything.

I went to the counter to make my purchase, and he SWIPED MY CREDIT CARD ON HIS IPHONE...!!! He then entered the item number and boom! I was all set. My credit card number gave him my full name and email account. The Bill was sent to my email account - no printing necessary. He had taken my purchase, updated his inventory, gave me a bill, completely wirelessly and without wasting paper.

I bring my purchases home and plug them in. WOW!!!!! My mac saw my time capsule and the airport, just like that. My airport saw the time capsule. The time capsule saw everything. I now had an additional 1 Terabyte of storage. Just incredible.

So speed must suck, right? No!! I was able to backup 300 Gigs of videos in no time and it was as simple as drag and drop. My PC talked effortlessly to the Internet via the Airport, and so did the printer.

Now for more fun. The Airport has an audio port on it. I plugged in some speakers, and WOW!!! Itunes on my Mac now saw the Airport, and played music via AIRTUNES. I fired up my iphone and could control the music in my house via the iPhone! WOW!!

So to sum it up. Good service, good price, great products, nothing to configure. Wow, Apple, Wow.

pc's suck.

Wow.. Plug'n'play? Really?? WOW!
Apple sure are the Hardware for Dummies company, I'll give them that. They really know how to get people easily to impress on their hook.
Nothing beats a custom built PC though. I'd rather install Linux on my PC, than pay an arm and a leg just to run OS X.

Have you not been in one of the Apple Stores here? The experience is identical to what was described. At least it was in the Regent Street and Brighton ones when I visited. Packed. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Had what I needed. Great experience.

Whats ironic is all the haters who come into every Apple thread and call anyone who owns an Apple product a "hipster doofus", "moron", "simpleton", "idiot", "fanboy" etc etc. Apple owners are "fanatics" yet they are the ones hitting every Apple thread giving their 2 cents. If somebody dares to mention that they like Macs they froth at the mouth and start hurling insults.

seeric 05-04-2010 08:03 PM

people who can afford apple do.

Sheffield meadowhall one... Clueless idiots. All of them.

A line of 10 customers waiting to just be able to buy simple things like mouses... All of them moaning cos there ain't no tills (I was in that queue) and nobody seemed to be able to do anything without this girl in a orange t-shirt who was doing something else.

When I was first considering changing over to Mac's I was like...

"On my pc, I can do this, how do I do that on the Mac?" to hear the reply...

"Mmmmmm, I think you might be able to do it this way... erm... nope... maybe this"

Absolute idiots. Might just be that store though. The franchised store in Nottingham (NOT an apple store) is MUCH better, very knowledgable.

Having said all this... I'm writing this on a Macbook pro. Do my main computing on an imac. Own an Iphone. And gonna get an Ipad. So maybe I'm an apple fanboy. lol

Still... The only Apple store I have experience with over here is VERY bad.

Mac users are the same people who buy cars based entirely on how they look.

PC users want to know what's under the hood.

Thats total horse shit.

Everybody buys a car somewhat on how it looks. Boiling it down the point of a car is to get yourself and what you're transporting from point A to point B, period. By your reasoning the only car PC users would buy is a white Chevy Cobalt.

Let me guess when you're in a bar you dont look at girls based on looks either right? It's all about the personality. :1orglaugh
