are you really comparing smoking weed to speeding ? :warning :upsidedow as much as the people here who smokes weed thinks it is no big deal, as far as the law in the US is concerned its a little higher up the list than parking tickets and speeding. most cops in unmarked cars while on duty wont stop you for speeding. However weed is a big enough crime that on duty or off unless you know the cop real well or he doesn't give a shit about his job, he is going to bust you for it. |

It's well within his rights to be a vigilant anti-drug crusader 24 hours a day if that's what he wants, but that doesn't mean people have to hang out with him or be understanding about it while he does it. Ya dig? :thumbsup

and yes, it is still a federal crime to possess, cultivate, traffic etc cannabis. but at least in my state, you can get a card for 70 bucks a year and go to any of the 1000s of dispensaries that have popped up in the last couple years. you can grow it, sell it, smoke it legally. some localities have tried to set local ordinances, but those don't hold up in court, because the law (in effect since the mid 90s) says nothing about limits. if a cop busted me for having weed in my car today, i would win the case without a fight. and more states are doing this all the time. and why not, really? why is it cool to have liquor and cigarettes freely available -like - EVERYWHERE but for some reason this plant is considered as dangerous as heroin or cocaine? that's preposterous. |
how the fuck did this turn into a legalization debate again?

Best hope he doesn't find out when your next party is and get all pissed at you for not inviting him, then have a few of his on patrol buddies drop by and bust you all anyway.

Hey, I really enjoy hanging out with you and like being friends but some of my other friends who come over to my house have been known from time to time to smoke weed. I wouldn't want to put you into a situation where you could potentially be around people doing that and it affect your job or get you in any kind of trouble. (reword that into your own words with the same point). See how he responds, he will either say " thanks for thinking of me " and he will stop asking to hang out with you at your house with the other people there or " its ok just tell them to not do it in front of me" or " Im going to raid your house next time you have a party :1orglaugh It will likely be one of the first two . |

he cant see it, know about it or smell it. hes at one house..we go to garage of another house..then come back..everyone washes their hands and takes a breathmint then hes fine...and everyone else is fine :) |
Don't invite him....
|
Hummm by not inviting him you are telling him some night there is drug in your house... I'd go see my doctor, get a medical maryjane card and only have the amount legal at your house.
This guy seems to be a dickhead so better safe then sorry. |
I made a small playlist for you for when he comes over:
|
His statement about arresting anyone smoking weed even in his off time says, to me, two main things:
1) He's close-minded and can't see that all evidence points towards marijuana being harmless... especially when compared against every other drug. 2) He never leaves his job behind so he's one of those guys that thinks he IS the law rather than an "enforcer" of the law. These two things mean to me... I might have a good time associating with him once in a while but he's no friend of mine... He can stay an acquaintance :P |

I am not a big lover of the police. But why is this guy a dickhead? He is a high ranking official and him just being at a party with drugs and him NOT doing anything would get him into a lot of trouble if not fired if it got out. Besides the fact the police are suppose to do their job 24/7. If you don't like the laws take it up with the law makers. Quote:
" He can't see the evidence that weed is harmless" , wtf ?? his not a judge, his job is to not decide which laws to enforce or not. He is a police officer, his enforces the laws, not make them. "He never leaves the job behind" ???? he is a police officer, they are police officers 24/7. Especially the higher up they are. We not talking about a meter maid who gives parking tickets 9-5 M-F coming over to your house at 9pm on a saturday night and on her way into your party she starts writing tickets for the cars parked out front your house. btw, you #1 and #2 contradicted themselves. In #1 you want him to be the law and decide which laws are ok or not to enforce bases on what drugs you think are harmless. and in #2 you saying he thinks he is the "law" and doesn't enforce the law. I know its cool to hate cops, they are all assholes, until you need one. I wonder how many of you who hate them are the first to call up one you know to try to get out of something. |

i think all he is saying is that it would be best if he wasnt put in a situation where people are doing illegal activities in front of him.. so if people are likely to smoke illegal weed, then perhaps they can go out back.
as a cop obviously he doesnt want to be implicated in a drug party.. |
At college I used to buy weed from a policeman. Several times he weighed it up in front of me in uniform. Very surreal.
|
around 5 years ago i was at a party a couple hours from Whistler. hanging out, having some drinks. this guy totally latches on to me. i don't know anyone there other than my gf, so i'm like okay some guy trying to be friendly, no biggie (maybe a little bit weird though, so i'm playing it safe). he's all into my 911, loves cars, we go out with our drinks and just start it up, all good. come back into the house, and my gf is smoking a joint out on the patio. dude FREAKS the fuck out. grabs it out of her mouth and throws it on the ground. i was half a second away from punching him in the back of the head when his gf grabs my arm and tells me he's rcmp. i was very lucky. anyway, he started yelling at his gf about bringing him into these situations, and then stormed off, drunk, in to his car. trippy experience.

i am too paranoid. fuck that.

Do not mess with pacman.
Do not mess with people who are friends of pacman. Jesus man, think. |
Odd. I know in France that cops here are NOT legally obligated to arrest friends/etc for low level crimes (such as weed, etc) - so they can actually have a social life.
|
No, no. *shakes head*
Troubles. As much trouble as somebody with a vagina. |
Cops aren't retarded. They realize that pot isn't a big deal like harder 'drugs'. Hell, if you get pulled over and are honest that you have some weed on you, they will probably just dump, smash it with their foot and send you on your way. If you lie or are an ass about it, then they will fuck you.
Cops hate liars. Some cops are super-fucking-cool off duty. Others are militant assholes. I've hung out with a few that know I smoked weed, they didn't give a shit. A deputy sheriff that I knew seen me parked in a gas station parking lot while my friend went in and pissed. I was in the driver's seat and drunk off my fucking ass (I know it was fucking retarded of me). He came up to my window and said hey, then realized I was shitfaced and just laughed about it and walked away. Some cops are cool as hell. |
Tell him that if he turns his head for the weed smoking, you'll turn your head when he drives home drunk.
In all seriousness, if the guy is high up, he has a lot more pressure on him. He can't exactly tell his boys not to bust a party he's at and there is no guarantee it won't be busted. Discretion goes far with many cops; they're fine if they know, they only have to act if they see. |
Surely your pot head friends can put the herb down for a few hours. :pimp
|
Cops can be cool, don't hate, be normal. Just don't be a pothead faggot that day. Problem solved & you have a friend on the force.

A cop came to one of my poker parties and he let me know that the pot smokers were getting on his nerves. He was considering making a call... I reminded him that gambling is illegal...
