who would ever believe this shit that's sent by email? surely they have been spammed before, and since when do lawyers of any kind contact people via email anyway? Be easier to find peoples phone numbers than emails.

This isn't a joke... it's 100% true. My friend isn't a webmaster... he is a factory worker. He totally got took by con men who even went so far as to look up his family tree and identify someone who had money so that they could tell my friend to check his family tree himself. It's sad, really. I have no idea why anyone would ever buy into it... but my friend certainly did along with his ex wife and mother who lent him money to pay this scam artist... this world is crazy.

RRRED 05-07-2010 12:27 PM

I saw some guy on that shoe, "Intervention" who was spilling his entire life savings over to those guys over months of time.. hundreds of thousands.. just like another addiction. They get some sort of rush from it. Some people are pretty vulnerable.

skinnay 05-07-2010 12:28 PM

what year is it?

nation-x 05-07-2010 12:38 PM

The funny thing is that he called me for a loan to pay this shit... I told him it was a scam... I have gotten at least 3-4 phone calls from his ex wife and mother yelling at me to stop feeding him full of negativity... "This has been verified"... because the scammer has a partner who has called them on multiple occasions... including this afternoon.

FreeHugeMovies 05-07-2010 12:39 PM

Go give him a blowjob

Poor guy. I was just speaking to my business rep at Chase the other day regarding this. I live on the rich side of town and they said they will get 1-2 older people in there every month trying to withdraw 20k to send away and get their inheritance. I am truly amazed people fall for this also, I must have received thousands of those letter dating back to like 2000.

LiveDose 05-07-2010 01:05 PM

I can't believe even one person has ever fallen for that stupid scam.

Agent 488 05-07-2010 01:06 PM

Konkan 05-07-2010 01:08 PM

Obviously he couldn`t recognize a scamer. Sorry about him.

Supz 05-07-2010 01:08 PM

czarina 05-07-2010 01:13 PM

jeezuz, with all the press coverage on this type of scam, I can't believe people still fall for it

tiger 05-07-2010 01:18 PM

I feel bad for him but man what a dumb ass.

nation-x 05-07-2010 01:22 PM

does he still believe he inherited the money? how did they find access to his family tree?

Tom_PM 05-07-2010 01:44 PM

Maybe hard to believe people fall for it, but they really do. Sorry your friend and his family are so dead set on believing it. Why dont you drive him down to his bank and sit down with a branch manager and he can set up a wire from account to account.... and let his bank break the news to him.

Jarmusch 05-07-2010 01:49 PM

He had it coming, as sad as it is.

It'll make him a stronger person once he sees the truth.

dyna mo 05-07-2010 01:50 PM

it could be legit.

The initial email asked him for personal information by which they identified him... I am certain he has had his identity stolen as well.

I watched a tv program about 6 months ago talking to victims of this fraud and using different data/research showed thousands and thousands of americans and canadians still falling for this scam every year .....:(

dav3 05-07-2010 04:23 PM

He didn't think it was odd that they, ya know, contacted him by fucking email about a multi-million dollar inheritance??

I hate hearing about people getting ripped off by these fuckers. But shit, he's got to learn not to be so naive.

The Heron 05-07-2010 07:28 PM

I'd just be pissed if I didn't realize my friend was such an idiot myself and scammed him on my own...

camperjohn64 05-07-2010 07:29 PM

Let him fuck himself up, he'll learn something from it. If a friend of 20 years is telling him NOT TO DO IT, and he does it:

a) He isnt much of a friend if he doesn't value or trust your opinion.
b) He is immature. Immature enough to get taken in a scam as old and easy to spot as this
c) He is not that bright.
b) Is sending money to people he doesn't know, aka read the first 3.

Tell him that your friendship is over and that you wish him the best when he never sees his "inheritance", or gets his money back. If that doesn't snap him back to reality, then really cut him off and don't assosciate with him again. When he comes and appologizes to you for ignoring your warnings, tell him that next time, he shouldn't be such a gullible moron who completely disregards his friends opinions and advice, while blindly following a couple of scam artists and their advice.

What can I say? I have a very, very short fuse for stupid people. And this friend of yours is acting incredibly stupid.

Spunky 05-07-2010 07:50 PM

So many people still fall for this bullshit..too bad

jackknoff 05-07-2010 07:57 PM

http://www.universityofnigeria.com/

He should be neutered for his stupidity. If he already has kids, they should be neutered as well so they don't pass along their stupid gene.

Spanx!
Jack
