Her first movie with Vivid was all g/g. Well who cares? What's the point with giving a woman a Vivid contract if you're not going to have sex with men? The movie didn't do well because it was all girl and also because Vivid isn't the way it used to be and lacks in the promoting department. Hirsch is so fucking fixated on these pathetic boring celebrity sex tapes that he hasn't done much of anything in building a contract girl's career. I was also told that many believe Hirsch doesn't really run the company anymore because it's a sinking ship and a shell of it's former self.
They let Briana, Monique, Hanna (boring), and Meggan go. Meggan was actually the future of the company but she's now dating Vivid director BSkow and never renewed in November. So who do they really have left? There's Savanna and Sunny. But Sunny Leone isn't even a Vivid girl anymore and shoots for other companies. But they're holding on to her for dear life because she is very popular. What the hell happened to Nikki Jayne? She's back in England full time now and didn't even go to this year's AEE convention & AVN Awards. That used to be an automatic losing of your contract before with Vivid if you didn't show up every year. But I guess Nikki once being engaged to Derek Hay, she stays as a Vivid girl.
So who are left? Lia and A.J. Bailey. I have nothing against these women but with Vivid lacking in the promoting department and the these two not promoting their own careers, no one really knows who they are. I read many of the adult forums and many porn fans can't name a single Vivid girl.
When your company isn't doing their job in promoting you, then take control of your own career. Does Lia even have a Twitter account yet and what's up with A.J. having a Blue Geisha Twitter? I tried looking for a Twitter for Lia and couldn't find one and I just gave up. Lia should have come up with a last name because how many other Lia's in porn were there before her? And with a last name, she can have her share of options when claiming herself at social networks. But go and claim your exact name at every single major social network. Don't do the xxx names or Club names. That won't rank high on search engines. Make sure you're not taking another porn girl's name. And Google the name to make sure no one has ever had that name before you. Because there are many porn stars who have the same names or very similar names or change the y to an i thinking they're being cute when they're not. Because that won't rank high on search engines when someone else already has the same or similar name.
Go to every single party that you can and make sure you're being photographed. Take security with you because I hear all the time many female porn stars don't go to these parties because of the constant harassment and abuse by fans AND industry people. I would take business cards and pass it to every photographer so they will know who I am, spell my name right, and know which websites I have. Don't be insulted if they don't know who you are. Many don't. Gram Ponante didn't even know who Casey Parker was because she had new hair at the 2009 AEE convention.
Buy your domains and even if you don't have a website yet, redirect the domain to your Myspace or Twitter. I've already seen porn stars doing that a lot and they redirect it elsewhere. Buy your names and not the xxx and Club names. You can if you have the money to burn.
There isn't much out there about porn star Lia because Vivid has dropped the ball and so has Lia. If Vivid won't do their job, then it's up to Lia to promote herself. Go to every single party and event that you can, make yourself known on social networks, send out press releases with all your social network links included, and email them to every single site that runs press releases. Chanel Preston didn't have a single movie out yet but hires Adella to promote her and now she's more known than the Vivid girls are. I asked someone who is Chanel Preston and why is this unknown getting all this press without a single movie out. But she got the right people around her to promote her. Now she's writing for XCritic and was also a trophy girl at XRCO.
Promote your careers and take control of it yourself without having to rely on someone else to do it. And also build your online presence. Because how else will anyone know who you are and what your next projects are? There's more promotion for a dance gig or a new sex toy than there is for the actual porn star. Control your own lives if you want a career in this industry.
