I always appreciate feedback :thumbsup, but you are misinformed and i can prove it.

I have been running this on a site to test and i record browser strings on page and in the banner inside the video , something that can only be seen by people it "worked" for. So i know exactly how many chrome users see it and how many don't and your theoretical numbers are way off real world numbers :)

What exactly am I misinformed about? I can only comment on my experience and it did not work at all for me.

Chrome 4.1.249.1064 (45376)
Windows Media Player 12.0.7600.16415
Windows 7 7600.16539.amd64fre.win7_gdr.100226-1909

And people bitch about the biz going to the shitter :disgust

It's not 1999 any more, peeps are fed up with pops and "do you want to save or download" crap. And even if you catch a number of super illiterate web users, don't you think they will chargeback?

the part where you conjectured about what other people would experience, i was merely pointing out where you were factually wrong.

this is what you said
" there is zero chance the average surfer has more than I do"

That doesn't sound like a comment on your personal experience, infact it sounds like a guess at what other people would experience , or am i mistaken ?

It's not 1999 anymore , people are fed up with ads and paying for stuff and tv commercials , and wiping their own ass. Perhaps you should start a non-profit ass wiping ad-free tv and internet station.

Most of the biggest most succesfull mainstream and adult sites use popups :2 cents: and it isn't 1999

Can you show me the versions that surfers are using that are newer than the ones I posted above? I mean, you have these facts, let's see them...

not sure what you are asking. newer versions of chrome ?

most are Chrome/4.0.249.89 or Chrome/4.0.249.1064 that are actively viewing the banner inside the video, but it has nothing to do with that i believe it has to do with installing the windows media player plugin :2 cents:

ActiveX days on IE4.0 were the best

SmokeyTheBear 05-18-2010 02:15 PM

p.s. i updated the psc code because a few people were worried the "save as " prompt some users could get might scare off the surfer so i removed that part , it will either open in media player or the surfer wont see anything
