Does your sewer and everything else work like a House Boat? You have to fill all your drinking water tanks and all that good stuff.

No the water is actually as calm as glass in the evening only choppy when the speed boats fly by during the day...

the toilets work just like a house boat you have to have a honey wagon come pump them out about once every 2 weeks.

the water is pulled from about 100' deep and then ran thru a purifier so no filling tanks needed....

Well I'm way too young to retire, but if I had the money to invest I'd open up my own restaurant / lounge. I'd also start a tuner shop that builds/tunes high-end exotics, (you know, 1000hp Lambos, Porsches, Ferraris, etc.. :)).

I think that as humans we are much better at giving great advice than taking it.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and a lot of dentists have HORRIBLE teeth.

Man that is so true.
Plumber always has a leaking faucet.

That's awesome, our lake house gets choppy as hell so it's a known for Wind Surfing which I have only tried one.

Sounds like you are all set up. :thumbsup

Let me save you some time and headaches, stay away from the restaurants.
But the high-end exotics, you have my vote on. :thumbsup

Are you retiring Dave?

If so, I nominate myself to be groomed as your successor.

Thank you.

Nope, like I said, I can't even take a day off. I can, I just don't know what I would do.
I'm weird like that, I have to come to my office and be around all my employees. I also run all my other business's out of my office. I just love getting up and going to work. :Oh crap

No, you're retiring.

My Plan B is to get photos of you with hookers and a table full of coke in a hotel room and exposing you to the world!

Oh wait, that's called an industry show.

I need Plan C.

Edit: Dear Law Enforcement Agent. It's just a joke. Respectfully, Jesse.

I would start inventing, more... lots more.

AmeliaG 05-19-2010 03:53 PM

Do pretty much what I do now, but travel more and worry less.

Juicy D. Links 05-19-2010 03:54 PM

first thing i would do is do 3 chicks at the same time

Robbie 05-19-2010 04:02 PM

If I could bring myself to really and truly "retire" in the classic sense meaning no longer working in my current business (adult)

I would move to St. Marteen island and open up a tiki bar at China Beach and play acoustic guitar at night at the bar and just enjoy the sun, the ocean and all the nude babes getting rays.

I just don't think I could ever bring myself to stop working though because I love it too much.

Well, I don't do Coke or Hookers and haven't been to an industry show for a few years now.

I'll wait for Plan C. :1orglaugh

Varius 05-19-2010 04:05 PM

First, I'd travel to many different countries to decide where exactly I'd like to setup my permanent base of operations. Probably travel for a solid year for this phase.

Once found, I'd build a castle there to live in.

Then, I would likely focus on building businesses that I feel are lacking or missing where I live. Whether it's starting an indy wrestling fed, owning a rock bar / live venue, etc... I'd need something to keep busy with.

I'd also teach poor countries there is something out there for them other than soccer; it's called hockey.

Also, I'd like to set up like a wild animal sanctuary perhaps.

It took me a long time to figure out what I wrote above, I've been trying to reinvent myself since the new year, so that's what I figured out after I took some effort trying to understand myself again.

Took it easy for some time, cause I didn't take any real time off from 2003 till the start of 2010, while studying college, holding full time jobs, so I usually had a program for 12 - 16 hours a day, add a job related burn out, family tragedy and I've ended up as a nervous wreck with damaged health for the most of 2009.

Needless to mention it definitely was a mistake on my end, unclear priorities, unclear goals, not listening to the gut instinct, too much showing off of the "strong will" and "extreme loyalty" etc. Like speeding a car in bad direction till you ran out of gas.

But I guess I'm getting somewhere

So far I've:

- fixed my body
- fixed my spending - never in my life did I borrow money till two years ago, it broke through at the point when I obviously started curing my depression with extreme spending, now I am regularly hitting my savings goal every month again, as if it would be the most natural thing
- fixing my social life - reviving old ties and making new ones

What's next is to reach a sufficient level of recurring income, that will enable me to move another step forward after I finish college next year.

Have at least 9 things on paper that should have been online already, I guess I have to "manipulate my mind" or rather kick my ass some more and stop babbling :)

scarlettcontent 05-19-2010 04:26 PM

I would go to live on the top of a mountian, no tv, no internet - just nature

Hey Juicy, you'll never retired because you're this guy:

Honestly, I think most of us will have a hard time ever retiring.

How many people have made statements like "my 20's blew past me because I was in front of my computer working?"

For me at least, work is also my hobby.

Even if I retire and take up a hobby, my favorite hobby is working.

Quiet managed to retire but he has even said right here on GFY that managing his nest egg might as well be a full-time job.

Yngwie 05-19-2010 08:12 PM

I don't think I will ever retire. I might just die in front of my pc while working.. I'll be like 90 years old sitting in front of my pc wearing nothing but Depends, working and I will have a massive heart attack. My head will smash the keyboard and LOL will be embedded in my forehead. haha

Well, maybe not exactly like that, but I'm sure it will be close. ;)

Shap 05-19-2010 08:17 PM

I've thought about it a lot. Over the years we've had a number of people approach us about acquiring us. It always gets me thinking man what would I do. It's a really tough question to answer. In many ways I feel like a prisoner who doesn't want to be let out of jail. I don't want to spend my life here but at the same time it's the only thing I know.

I personally have no idea. I don't think I would move because I have my closest friends and my family near.

I would be bored off my ass for sure. Especially since I've been working my ass off since I was 15.

Lets hear your Retirement Plans.

I would manage my investments, most of which would be real-estate related and not take more than 10 - 20 hours a week which I could do from anywhere in the world. I would spend more time with my family, travel on vacation and to sporting events in other cities, play golf, go fishing as much as I wanted. Get a place by the beach and relax... can't wait for the day. The people who get high off of success and accomplishment can keep it, I didn't need success, acknowledgment, I've worked my ass off for one reason alone, so as soon as possible I wouldn't have to work any more and I could do all of the things I enjoy doing.

I've worked and put my time in, but I would be just as happy if I hit the power ball and was able to retire from that and not from my efforts. I'm past the days of tryig to be the biggest or the best, I just want to be the most retired :)

TrainWreckContent 05-19-2010 10:28 PM

i hope to always be doing something but i would love to travel around the world and visit every place i could go...

ottopottomouse 05-20-2010 04:48 AM

That houseboat looks amazing :)

Move somewhere hot but I need to keep doing stuff. Already tried stopping working in 2005 but I got bored.

The Heron 05-20-2010 07:06 AM

Retire from what? doing what I want, when I want, how I want? uh yea probably not much reason to retire. You people that say you spend all your time behind a computer, wtf?

Chosen 05-20-2010 07:20 AM

Probably travel full time...
I'm not going to retire soon anyway... :)

Serial Pervert 05-20-2010 07:29 AM

I honestly don't know..

Seems like you are living your retirement now. :)

The Porn Nerd 05-20-2010 09:37 AM

My Plan is already set, and I work 16 hours a day, every single day, to accomplish this Goal. I am thinking two-three years and I'm there. :)

Retire from Adult with 1/2 mil + in the bank.
Move to where the pretty girls are: Czech Republic
Finish my novel and my screenplay
Keep all the Adult sites running, silently, in the background, bringing in cash.

That's plan A.
Plan B:

Visit Robbie in Vegas, go on a four-day coke bender, end up naked in a Sands hotel room with sticky hundreds plastered to MY forehead, four bottles of half-empty Jack on the nightstand and then I slip in the tub trying to sober up and die.

Either way, I'm good. :D

Amputate Your Head 05-20-2010 09:44 AM

Easy.... I would head off to a warm island somewhere and disappear.
Yeah, I already did this once, but I'd do it again.

the girls are well worth the time here,

on the other hand I always found foreign girls more open, extroverted and easier to pick up, have no clue why, but I'm not the only one, maybe it's just that I'm exotic abroad so you'd be the one that's exotic here and that would make it even.

Btw. last time I almost picked up a drunken one night stand was when I was in a bar with a well known GFY'er and we sure spoke English (my accent doesn't sound very local and have no problems playing a foreigner :)).

That's entirely possible, last time I was in Vegas in 2009 I already received an informal invitation for a threesome with C M :winkwink:

Robbie means what he says and says what he means.

Paul Markham 05-20-2010 10:53 AM

I've been in semi retirement for over a year now and getting used to relaxing. It's not so bad. Eva, my wife, is still working hard at keeping me. :1orglaugh

xato 05-20-2010 10:59 AM

I have been travelling quite a bit in the last few years. According to my Facebook-Tripadvisor-App I have been to 97 noteworthy cities in 30 countries sofar.
And there is so much more to see.
I dont know if I ever get tired of travelling.

I dont see myself as retired though. Even though I can afford things, many people cant (Ferrari, Travelling whenever I want, etc) I feel very very poor when I go to places like Monaco during the F1 Grand Prix or similar. I want to reach so much more before I'd consider myself retired.

I would probably get back into motorsports too, just for the fun of it.

Lets see what time brings :)
