HD is very important depending on what KIND of paysite you have. I don't believe everyone even wants 'HD', they just think they do. LOL For me, I don't really want to see 'amateur HD' because so much of 'true' am porn is just badly lit horribly shakey (good) crap. Making it all crystal-clear wouldn't add to the experience, I feel.

Many people are (understandably) negative these days but you really only have two choices, in the end, right?

For me, I've noticed CRAZY sales patterns these past two months. They coincide with the new Visa/cc rules that went into affect April 1, 2010. Coincidence? I don't thinkk so.

Crazy:
25+ sales day on Tuesday, 4 sales day Wednesday, 18+ sales day Thursday, 3 sales day friday, etc.

Visa? The Banks? The Economy? Tubes? All of the above and more?

I don't think its just with adult membership sites. I have a number of businesses that sell digital goods in games (MMO's) and those sales have been dismal. In fact, the lowest I've seen in 4 years with some sites having hit all time lows of $0 for nearly two weeks now which has never happened in those locations. However, my traffic is still strong. They are out there they just aren't spending. Welcome to the world of e-commerce I guess.

I wish you guys the best though! Just do what you dig, remaster and do it again until you get it right. I don't have shitloads of traffic, like some of you guys, but my traffic is awesome, sometimes viral and natural.

Large segment of the population gets payed on the 15/16th of the month and 30th/31st of the month. As you can see, ratios are higher on the 1st/15th by your stats... but as the next week rolls by, ratios turn worse. The difference in this relative change has been increasing for quite some time.

This is all SE traffic. May not be the best targeted but it is straight from SE's. I do not traffic trading. If I think back, 2007 and prior I was pushing T/MGPs, and switched over to SEO end of 07 and into 08.

Just need to be innovative and switch things up. Marketing, content, sites, promotions, everything. There are too many things to list that are causing the drop in sales and ratios. Just need to be different and think outside the box. When I get some free time, I'll be brainstorming and trying to come up with some ideas to improve my overall marketing in adult.


All in all, stop complaining and do something about it.

Ok, so most of you are in porn but I for example run foot/nylon fetish related web sites (which used to be vely well converting) with very high quality photos and this content isn't available for free apart from some crappy poor quality amateur clips on youtube and I have the same situation. First I thought people lost interest in this niche so I opened a channel on youtube and posted a few 1min. long promo clips from my web sites. And guess what - If I had as many subscriptions to my pay sites as I have to this free channel I would be very rich today. Also I reduced prices of one of my pay sites to a minimum today and I'm waiting to see what's going to happen. Conclusions?

The main problem is banks. They are not approving transactions these days so noway surfers can get in!! Sales can't go dead the next day. I believe ups and down are normal but dead sales for a whole week is strange and something weird is going on...

It also confirms that the situation keeps on going all week and that is really weird. I remember last year also a slowdown for 3 or 4 days but it turned back on after that. But right now it doesn't. I checked with my 2 main sponsors to see if they had more decline reasons from ccbill but they both told me that they had ZERO declines from ccbill this week. They also confirmed the slow down this week.

It looks like all the surfers are hypnotized to not sign up...

I had good hopes for this weekend but at this time I don't have much good hope anymore... At this present time 0 sales while on a normal Saturday I have already 4 or 5 at this time... This is NO good situation...

Regarding banks...I read a few threds on this forum about Ccbill not approving transactions. I'm with Verotel and they always accepted more sales than any other processor, especially Ccbill and the situation is still the same: NO SALES. I mean c'mon, there's something weird going on here...we're not talking about 50K deals here, it's just $20 or so per membership and I don't believe people can be that poor. There's recession, not poverty. People are still travelling, buying food, cars etc...

My 2 main sponsors told me they have NOT received more denials than normal.
However, they conformed both a serious decrease of new sales this week.

Do you, as a program owner, see more denials than normal?

I still make good money, and as a matter of fact my income stays about the same as normal but I have to say that the last couple of months I have worked much harder than normal and I have doubled my traffic but I really expected to increase my income but in fact I stay where I was and since this week I am really having my doubts in this bizz (I am in it for 5 years now)...

Well, the short answer is 'yes' I get emails, and I've noticed a shitload more than usual.
The "long" answer, tho, is more informative:
I use cascade billing, with CCBill first, then Epoch second (and soon to be Zambaio third). I've had some issues with the cascade system - bugs, mostly - and as I do a lot of switcheroo-ing I've been on top of CCBill like on a daily basis sometimes to make sure everything is working properly (including denial emails). (Sorry CCBill for being a pain but sometimes it has to be done.)

More on denials and sales patterns below:

First and foremost: 'fucked up'? You bet, which is why I'm paying attention to it so much. LOL

About denials: my sites do very, very consistent numbers. I tweak and tweak the Tours until I get as much juice out of the lemon, so to speak. So some sites do great, some so-so, etc. But at least they're STEADY. So as long as the sales and denials "add up" to my "normal"-ish conversion ratio, I'm more-or-less cool with it. It's understandable why sales are down if denials are up and the number of "join attempts" remains relatively equal. Whats frustrating is, since April, i send more traffic and sales remain steady, but denails are going up. So this tells me it's a credit thing, or a bank thing (almost same thing). Out of my control. It ALSO tells me the new landscape may be: work twice as hard to maintain your average sales. Now, if it gets to be work THREE times as hard to maintain, then FOUR times as hard to maintain, where's the breaking point? A differant answer for everyone, I suppose.

Join hits: On my tours I have two join pages under my control (before the surfer gets taken away to a cc processor's join form). Some tours only have 1. My 'flow' is fucking fantastic as a huge number of ppl who stay on my tours for more than 30 seconds tend to go all the way through to the 'final' join page.

So this traffic is as steady as ever. Now when it comes to the cc processor's Join forms it's a differant story. Wild swings, as stated above. On one of those 'dead days' I described (4 sales after a 25+ sales day) I've had as many as 800+ form hits to Fellucia Blow with only 4 sales. Number of denials: 33 LOL

Okay, that was a record day. LOL But still, wild ratios so it's either THEIR join form is loading slow as shit or the banks aren't letting orders through. Whatever, it's weird and have noticed it now on a weekly basis, sometimes twice a week.

Talk about depressing! You work your ASS off 7 days a fucking week - look at me now, working at 7 pm on a Sat. nite for fuck's sake - and yet it appears like I only get sales 5 days a week! LOL Man, i should start taking weekends OFF...

Don't blame CCBILL guys, of course ratio sucks lately, but your are not attacking the real problem.

BLAME sites like extreme-board, pornbb dot org, AWEMPIRE or PAYPAL...

The first two are illegal forums with complete site rips of most paysites... The two others are One a cam sponsor supporting illegals sites and the other a PROCESSOR, PROCESSING and accepting donations for EXTREME-BOARD...

again, BLAME those sites... NOT CCBILL, the banks, or others...

I just compared my overalls stats with these and they match 100% .. the exact same dates that your ratio goes skyhigh my does the same .. funny how a global pattern can come like this
