Is that why they won't allow industry experts from around the World to help? What do you think the agenda is? Global tax? Raise the cost of oil so people are forced into other energies? Fucking up the entire US and World economy in general because import exports will be too expensive? All of that and more?

You're a conspiracy theorist..:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

There really is no other reason to Obamas EXTREMELY slow response + the dog and pony show on The Hill.

oh sorry, was that comment too biased?

Dont blame BP. Its the human race that want oil, petrol, fast cars, heating & much more without us wanting to use the sun, wind & rain.

I am about to fit heating to my pool & really wanted to go solar, it just doesnt heat enough & wind power is so expensive. My option is the compressed air system which is cost efficient and has a low electric usage. Its still going to take power though....

This is all our fault. :(

Davy 05-21-2010 05:45 AM

I say: nuke everything. It will happen sooner or later, anyway. So they might as well start now.

Fuck complaining about washington. People need to start protesting these big corporations that make billions every year, but won't put the most basic safe guards in place to protect the environment and the people buying their products!

Fletch XXX 05-21-2010 06:54 AM

Multiple business owners in my family have bascily been put out of business for awhile. My family is feeling this, people I know havent worked since the day it happend. Theyr paychecks gone, their business at a complete hault.

True! With the safety laws in the UK these days, even a roofer has to wear a hardhat on the roof on site. Now, whats going to fall on his head up there! With a multi million turnover, the safety laws should be greater. This should never have happened with thicker pipes, better joints & going over the top with this type of business. :2 cents:

Fisherman make a lot of money.

Some make over 300,000.00 a year and now are making nothing.

I promise you most fisherman do not make that LOL thats hilarious. besides Im also talking about people who work the rivers and waterways for cargo boats, in addition to shrimpers, fish charter captains etc... ;)

However my family does fishing charters for tourists and many different things, so the tours have stopped, the money has stopped and the lodge still has bills, the fleet of boats still have monthly payments due to the bank. When business stops the bills sure dont. The cabin mortgages dont stop, etc...

we'll see bp lynch mods soon enough.

bronco67 05-21-2010 07:50 AM

Why are we relying on Saudi oil, when we're sitting on what seems like the world's oil supply?

bronco67 05-21-2010 07:52 AM

BP has spent 350 million, all because of a rubber gasket.

it would be safe to say:

"BP has spent 350 million, all because they ignored safety test that stated the valve was under too much pressure and sent the inspection team home 11+ hours early the day they should have finished more safety tests, ya know, tests that would have indicated it was about to explode and also for claiming back up safety valves are too expensive"

LOL

BP is so at fault..

Oh yeah, I knew that the gasket failed because of their fuckups. The 60 Minutes piece from last week pissed me off so much. They were saying that Transocean -- who knew their shit -- basically had their safety procedures pushed away by some chest thumping BP execs at the site who wanted to speed up the drilling. They gambled and lost.
