Slavery has been around for a lot more time than that, you do know how the pyramids were built right?

Then don't you want all these white conquering motherfuckers shipped back to where they came from?

So, you'll take the benefits of being an American, but not those of being Indian? Why? Are you going to reject your social security benefits? Your retirement benefits?

You didn't state America, so that makes you incorrect on two counts.
So kindly FUCK OFF!
Slavery has been around since the dawn of time, You just see when blacks were slaves, narrow minded missing the fact that there were other slaves before blacks got to America. Maybe you would know this if you had ever cracked open a book! Here's a page of some history for you. http://www.revisionisthistory.org/forgottenslaves.html
You keep playing the race card in your posts, like telling me that people are getting on Obama because he's black? NO, it's because he's a shitty president. But you didn't come back and debate the facts, just gave me some fucking excuse that people hated the black man.
Just like I remember when Charlton Heston Died, people bashed him on this board because all they knew was he was head of the NRA for a while, he was standing up for peoples rights, just like he did when he marched with Martin Luther King!

You insinuated that a 300 year old US family tree was too old for a White American to
claim.

I simply stated that white people had to be here that length of time based on
the history of slavery.

I don't really understand what the problem is.

Do you have a difficult time counting numbers or did you just have a
"redneck reaction" whereby once you heard the word "slavery" you went stupid on a nigga?

Not everyone, those that choose not to learn the language, not to become part of the mix or the melting pot are just moving to America, they're not becoming American.

Linguist 06-13-2010 12:36 PM

Let's just put it this way: I'm an immigrant. My family is immigrant.

We came to Canada, legally. After doing a shitload of fucking paperwork, going through interviews, financials, etc.

That's what the law is. In the states, law is similar. You get a greencard or you stay the fuck out.

You're saying - criminals that jump border get more rights than law abiding Mexicans who don't dare to cross the border illegally.

Why don't we just open the borders to Mexico then? It'll be a humanitarian thing to do. We're all part of the mix anyway.

again you show your lack of reading comprehension and then proceed to turn it around.

i stated there appears to be a disproportionate amount of gfyers who claim 300+ year long family trees that are strictly american. i am not expecting you to comprehend it is this time either. just restating my comment.

Who's to say they'll be over written then? The truth is this Hispanic group will become "Americanized" and you'll see a whole new class of Hispanics - those who were born here, those who have been "Americanized", those who are here illegally. When the first two groups of Hispanics figure out their tax dollars are going to support and pay for this third group, well, they'll be looking for ways to close the loop holes too.

Bullshit. Most hispanics stick together. Have you not seen all the rallies over the last few years every time illegal immigaton is brought up? Those aren't illegals protesting.

Fact is 2 thing will happen in 20 years when Hispaancis reach 50% inAZ. The law these laws will be overturn. Or the cops will be VERY VERY busy asking half the population for thier papers. Meanwhile rapists, child molesters and murderers are running around free because the cops don't have time or resources to find them.

Same here, though I forget the exact number of generations. On my father's side the ancestor that first settled here arrived in about 1750. He was indentured, like many of the time. Except for having to keep working to pay off his passage, he just got off the boat when it landed in Charleston Harbor (it was named something different at the time). There was no customs, Ellis Island, or birth certificates.

I'm NOT saying we need to keep this system. Obviously we live in different times, but the idea of closing the gates now that "real Americans" are here is the worst kind of nationalism. The Statue of Liberty still has the same words when it was erected, about accepting those from other countries looking to come to America for a better life. It's a founding principle of this nation, and a principle worth keeping.

The argument should not be about illegal immigration, but about illegal hiring of immigrants. If employers in the US were held accountable to the laws already in existence in every state, illegal immigration would be cut by 80-90%.

Remove the incentive for illegals to risk their lives to get here, you remove the trafficking in illegals, and much of the crime that goes along with it.

Most of my family has been here less than 200 years. Except for the Native American part, who have been here for thousands of years. So really anyone that doesn't have Native American roots either needs to get the hell off my land or go spend some money at my casinos.

numbers don't matter if one actually can go back 11 generations. 30 years? More like 25. heck my son and his grandma on his mom's side is only 35 years difference. 11 generations could be as little as 200 years.

In the old days a generation would be less than 30 years because during
that time people fucked faster.
