Less than 10 miles from my house RedBull built the first US soccer stadium ( built for soccer only) Right in the middle of the Portuguese ,Brazilian, and Latin areas, so im sure your going to See more and more soccer related stuff coming from here. Although i think Soccer is boring as shit, the tickets are cheap and ill probally go watch some games.

my point remains re: soccer. i doubt it's a conspiracy by the networks and these #s belie that.

My point entirely.

They will love football as they get to the top rankings.

by then all the teams will have settled down, england allways start slow, we drew the first game when we won the world cup in 1966 and we drew the first game when we got to the semi finals. i'm notr saying england will win the whole thing but we'll win the group and should get to the quarter or semi finals (where we will go out on penalties as usual), then you just need a bit of luck.

American spectators don't like it due to the scoring system.

Add a 3 and 7 point goal and it will be a huge hit!

I personally like to watch football(soccer) i just dont pay for cable or satellite so i never get to see it on tv.

Nevermind win it. Mark my words, the instant team USA makes it into a semifinal world cup match US viewership will rise a hundredfold.

Penthouse Tony 06-14-2010 10:11 AM

In the US the best athletes go to the sports that pay them more, football, baseball, basketball and hockey. As soccer starts paying more the US will field better teams. It's already happening.

this is my main beef with soccer. hockey or rugby, you get your teeth knocked out, and you keep playing.

Are you kidding? I know the US won this last gold medal, but have you seen the Olympics the last decade or so? It had been a while before US came in first.

Most Major League teams are like 90% latino players so please explain to me how that would work?

that's cool, it was my understanding there would be no maths used here at gfy.:1orglaugh (that's a snl joke btw)
nevertheless, pointing out the math is tangential to my post, which was ads are shown at the break so it really doesn't have anything to do with why america does not like footsie.

there's 2 football (soccer) players in the worlds top 10 highest earning sports stars at the moment (beckham #2, ronaldinho #8). if they're good enough footballers can earn mega money.

We're a fairly small to medium sized city, and we've had a dedicated Soccer staduim for the past 10 or so years.

This is in addition to a really nice Minor League ball park about a mile from it. You can see that in the background.

Yes but in the US you make more on money on average in other sports. For now.

They even call the Baseball finals The World Series . :upsidedow

If the USA Football team rises to the top 5 nations in the world then Americans will start to love it. Until then it will be a minor sport in the US.

It's called Football not soccer. American Football has little to do with feet except for kicking the extra point, standing and running on. :1orglaugh

We love football, we just don't care for soccer much :2 cents:

Fbomb - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-14-2010 02:55 PM

CamTraffic 06-14-2010 03:34 PM
