1. I thought we needed to do everything possible to keep the auto industry afloat, he
did something.

2. I thought we needed to try to exit Iraq. He's trying.

3. I thought we needed to get back to the real fight in Afghanistan, He's doing it.

4. I like universal health care; other Politicians tried and failed but he got it passed.

5. I wanted to improve the USA image abroad, his election did that.

6. I was really impressed that the government is actually set to make a profit off
the "banking bailouts". Most banks have repaid all the money plus some.

7. He was better than the other shit that ran in the election so I'm sticking with him.

9. People spouted failure before he was even sworn in and that built a wall of

If there was a public option or medicare buy in it would be different and it might have achieved something. It's a corporatist bill that did almost nothing to move towards true universal healthcare (which made all the cries of socialism even more retarded)

I agree with your conclusion but I disagree with the reasoning. The reason I'm disappointed with the health care law was not because there's no public option. The problem is that there's no interstate competition and no malpractice reform or standardization. You nailed it on the head that it is the worst of both worlds--compulsory insurance but no real mechanism to lower rates.

1) Too bad Japanese companies did better with cash for clunkers than the US companies and too bad the US companies are now owned by a large amount by the US government
