For all of you who bitch that Obama is bankrupting the country - please enlighten us as to the path to balancing the budget.

The truth is, it is not easy, and it will require many sacrifices. Taxes will inevitably have to go up - the retirement age will have to go up - and spending will have to be cut.

Now, please explain the simple answer that Obama is is missing. What would the "genius" republitards be doing right now, that they didn't do for the past 8 years?

It is easy to bitch, but what are the "obvious" solutions, that McCain and Palin would be managing better?

milambur 06-16-2010 02:12 PM

I actually think Bush seemed like a nice guy on a personal level, but not really president material. He got eaten alive by special interests. As for Obama he inherited a lot of shit and expectations where too high, has he handled it good? Not really I think. However I doubt that any modern day presidents got much choice in the matter. Appears to me that they are all pulling in the same direction and I doubt it will end pretty.

Dirty Dane 06-16-2010 02:19 PM

George W B was the best. Ever.

Dead 06-16-2010 03:18 PM

All Of The Above!!!! Nothing but agenda in All of the recent elected officials as of late, I would say the whole political process took a big steamy shit on due process many, many, moons ago.

We had a balanced budget before Bush, but according to you we can't have that back?
The solution is easy, get rid of NAFTA, Make it just as hard to sell US goods in other countries as they are to sell here. Other countries have an edge, take it away.
Spend less, more government means more taxes, we don't need more government

It's pretty simple, so let me explain it
The US government runs the Post office
Privately owned Fed Ex and UPS are expanding and the post office is cutting back.
That's what happens when the government gets involved.

But you will blame it on Bush and defend not voting for McCain no matter what facts are given you, so why bother?

Oh really, didn't Bush call that a "SURPLUS" and then sent every working
America a check for $300-$600 and called it a "stimulus package in 2001"?

Then he shit in his pants when we needed that money to go to war.

Awesome! So the answer has been in front of us the whole time! Just get a shipping company to run the country instead of the government!

Wow, that was easy! I can't believe it was that simple!

FedEx for President 2012!

That should take care of the oil spill, the endless wars we're in, the crazy amount of debt we have with China, unemployment, our dependence on foreign oil, our lack of manufacturing, and on and on...

GREAT NEWS!

First end at least one of the wars that he said he would end.
2 bring all our troops home from all around the world, that would instantly boost the economy and bring in more tax dollars.
3 lower taxes, esp corporate tax make it one of the lowest in the world, it is prove fact that lower taxes bring in more tax revenue :thumbsup

Minte 06-16-2010 06:11 PM

If you lived during the 70's you recall how divided the country was during Nixon. Since then each president has had serious issues, but I haven't seen the country as divided as it is now with Obama.

The fact that on a liberal porn forum he should have as many votes as he does, speaks volumes.

Mr. Cool Ice 06-16-2010 06:21 PM

Obama will end up being one of the worst ever by the end of his term. Americans, you're county is going to be taxed to DEATH to cover the spending. Enjoy.

Not only are they divided but the nation is in debt up to her ears, like never before. Very dark times ahead for the country. Sadly, as they fall so will others.

I've got enough faith in the private sector to say that the economy will right itself in time. Some controls over banking and the market are long overdue. The healthcare bill however is a disaster in my opinion and that issue has set a serious wedge in the population. I doubt we will see this administration serve a second term because of it.

It's a liberal board, because of the majority of people that post here have liberal viewpoints. The majority of the people still voted for GWB as the worst president in the last 50 years.

You obviously disagree with the votes for president Obama.. What is it that he has accomplished so far in his term that impresses you?

1. I thought we needed to do everything possible to keep the auto industry afloat, he
did something.

2. I thought we needed to try to exit Iraq. He's trying.

3. I thought we needed to get back to the real fight in Afghanistan, He's doing it.

4. I like universal health care; other Politicians tried and failed but he got it passed.

5. I wanted to improve the USA image abroad, his election did that.

6. I was really impressed that the government is actually set to make a profit off
the "banking bailouts". Most banks have repaid all the money plus some.

7. He was better than the other shit that ran in the election so I'm sticking with him.

8. Talking shit about him when there was really no clear alternative is bullshit.
Totally unpatriotic.

9. People spouted failure before he was even sworn in and that built a wall of
bullshit complaints and the wall of bullshit is so high that even if you had a real
complaint I couldn't find it amongst all the bullshit.

:)

No, No he didn't. He gave the insurance industry a bunch of free money, thats about it. It's the worst of both worlds.. If there was a public option or medicare buy in it would be different and it might have achieved something. It's a corporatist bill that did almost nothing to move towards true universal healthcare (which made all the cries of socialism even more retarded)

I agree with your conclusion but I disagree with the reasoning. The reason I'm disappointed with the health care law was not because there's no public option. The problem is that there's no interstate competition and no malpractice reform or standardization. You nailed it on the head that it is the worst of both worlds--compulsory insurance but no real mechanism to lower rates.

1) Too bad Japanese companies did better with cash for clunkers than the US companies and too bad the US companies are now owned by a large amount by the US government

2) And the exit strategy is working against him, the talaban is telling everyone that they will wait till the US leaves and then regain control

3)Smoke and mirriors and lots of drones

4) yeah others tried and failed because they couldn't come up with something that would work, now obama couldn't find one that worked either, but got it passed anyway, now according a government agency, it's going to cost more than we can afford and employers will be cutting programs everywhere they can to save money, limiting benefits

5)It worked for a couple months, but because of his BS with Israel, it's hurting the US because we are seen as a weaker nation and Israel will probably attack Iran again.

6)Sure, give them zero % loans to get back on their feet, forget all the people that have worked their whole life to save money and live on the interest with CD's and now can't get better than 1% for their lifes troubles

7)You don't know that for sure

8)FUCK YOU , I'm more patriotic than you will ever be, it's my right to question the actions of that asshat. I served in the military, my daughter is serving in the military and to be told we are unpatriotic because we question our leaders is a FUCKING MISTAKE

Free health care hasn't worked in Canada, and it hasn't worked in Europe. It will never work anywhere.

Amazing, I will address but a few.

1. Cash for Clunkers was a FAIL.

3. Dumb idea, no one wins in Afghanistan. This is our longest war ever. Nothing will be accomplished when we leave. Ask the Russians.

4. So, what are your benefits from that?

5. Are you kidding me? You would elect a president based on what foreign countries thought of him?

Consider this :

We attacked Iraq because we didn't like their leader. Period.

If a presidential candidate expressed views that would only stir up a string

vote for that.

I'm interested in national defense, not international fight picking.
