Way to go Tony! Doesn't it feel great to be moving down the scales? What are you doing to have had such a loss?

First thanks to everyone for your nice posts :)

I was 466 lbs and I came down with a terrible yeast rash under my stomach. It felt like a paper cut from one hip to the other. I had lost and gained 100's of pounds before but this time I wanted it to be a one way street. So I really looked at what I had done in the past and I was really honest with myself.

At 466 lbs I wasnt going to exercise 7 days a week. I knew myself if I made grand announcements, I would do it for awhile and then miss a day then it was fuck it.In fact I didnt start to exercise til I hit 140 lbs lost. Just losing the weight put me in much better shape.
Also I couldnt be the same person when I was done with this. If someone has more than 75 lbs to lose. Its not about food its about emotions before something bothered me I smiled and then ate a pizza. I confront things now and being liked isnt the most important thing in the world.
I looked at trigger foods, foods that when I ate them gave me an empty pit never full feeling and will never ate them again. I see them as poison, so it doesn't matter whats being eaten in front of because if its crap. I really see it as poison. So no sugar, ice cream ,cake and starches. Fruit is ok but I have to watch when I eat like first thing in the morning brings that empty pit feeling so I don't it. Also I dont eat wanna be ice cream, cake etc. Thin tastes better.
No surgery, in fact after the first 30 days its been pretty easy because I decided what I really wanted. Most people don't do that, they think they have but they haven't and that's why the weight comes and goes.
For exercise I do russian kettlebell training, it works for me quick, intense done.

dyna mo 06-16-2010 10:01 AM

hey tony,

what kettlebell program are you using? i would like to try that.

tony286 06-16-2010 10:01 AM

When mandy gets up I will have her take a pic.

167 lbs lost all naturally or with surgery?
I'm sure everyone would like to see before & after pics.. I know I do !

He's done it naturally. I've been watching him melt away month after month.

Congrats man. But don't get rid of the nic just yet. The way I've been eating lately, I may need to get it from you. :-)

I do snatches and swings 3x week. Periodically I get a one on one session with a certified RKC,she is in atl. She checks my form and we talk about raising intensity or going heavier on the bell. I do that once every 6 months so far.

It was my area code and my weight when I took it. I had no idea at the time 404 meant something different online. I had people wanting to talk to me about 404 traffic and I had no idea what they were talking about lol

Congrats! That is more or less exactly how I finally started doing it myself. My exercise is exercise bike and walking mostly. For me 'poisions' were (and are) anything processed or a fast burning carb. When I eat whole foods and exercise the weight comes off - period.

I have been stuck at about 90lbs lost for well over 6 months now. I am glad that I haven't put back on any of those 90lbs but I so very want to finally get to that 100 lost and beyond. I think you just inspired me to kick my ass a bit harder and get to that 100 :)

Honestly, it feels so much better to be able to move with more ease, doesn't it? Last year I climbed up to a glacier on a two hour hike through a mountain in Norway. Before I started losing the weight (a bit over two years ago..I am doing is slowly but it is staying off) I wouldn't have even thought about that.

NETbilling 06-16-2010 11:52 AM

Awesome for you Tony!!!

that is an amazing feat - congrats and keep going :thumbsup

wyldblyss 06-16-2010 03:42 PM

Tony you should be so very proud of yourself. Dieting for a short period time is one thing. Changing your lifestyle on a permanent basis and keeping with something as long as you have is amazing

Sarah, not to pry too much... but in the past you have mentioned a medical condition that makes it difficult for you to maintain or lose weight. Have you found a way around this? Do you feel you have to work extra hard to compensate for that condition?
