Definitely sad. The whole "blame the Republicans" rhetoric is hilarious, seeing as how Obama and the Democrats have destroyed this country in 2 years, far more than Bush could have in 8. Gotta love stupid people though, thanks for the amusement BFT3K.:winkwink:

that's really not an accurate portrayal, at least from where i stand.

Help me, because admittedly I am not too bright? What is an unfunded war? Is there a funded war we have had? I am really confused when it is said Bush and his "unfunded wars". Didn't congress approve funds for Iraq and Afghanistan? Declaration of war and passing spending bills for war funding aren't the same thing?? Really, I am stupid... help me understand why this is different than Viet Nam or Korea... or were those unfunded wars too?

Charlie, you're proving facts and a logical argument, two things the liberals on this forums can't cope with. Ignore the stupidity, they love to make things up just so they can sleep at night.

I know this question was directed at dynamo, but I have to ask.... Obama wasnt elected to fix the world's problems. He was elected to get us out of the war and fix the economy. Maybe I misunderstood his platform.... but I thought that was the change promised. I dont see much change... do you?

gear down, big rig.

as i've mentioned previously in this thread, i'm not the sort to assume i understand the world. my comment was re: your portrayal of people who are disenchanted with obama as being obama haters that can't see reality due to their hatred. that's not the case with many of us.

Obama hasn't had enough time to improve on jobs based on how long it has taken every other president in history.

I love the healthcare bill and know tons of people that do as well.

Of course people dieing and being forgot about and starving and blacks being rounded up after Katrina is far less of a problem than whatever Obama hasn't done with the Oil spill that you think he should have done.

I didn't vote for Obama...

You might want to check the approval rating statistics again: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...pproval_rating

We need heathcare reform, but you have to admit when Pelosi said we'll know whats in the healthcare bill after it's voted on, well that was kinda scary, now they are after reading everything, that it will not work like Obama said it will, employers have to cut back to afford the changes, it was not voted in bipartisan, it should have been, a good president would have got the two sides to work together on that.

Tax breaks for the rich did not help anyone but the rich.

Tax breaks for corporations that fuck the middle class did not help.

Starting two unfunded wars in the middle east was not wise.

Continuing our reliance on fossil fuels, especially oil, does not help.

Allowing politicians to be funded by special interests does not help.

ETC...

Instead of complaining about Obama non-stop, how about offering solutions?

PS - If your solutions are already listed above, please try again.

We've had this discussion, Obama even said that less people are paying ANY taxes, it's because poor people and most middle income people pay ZERO taxes, so any tax cuts that only benefit the rich, it's just a way for the democratic machine to spin it.

I have offered solutions, get rid of NAFTA, make it a level playing field for American companies to compete with foreign labor. less government means less taxes. More people working in better paying jobs means more people have healthcare. Use a pipe that goes inside the oil leak and inflates seals with hydraulic pressure to seal the fit with no leaks. Pull out of the two wars completely, drill for domestic oil, control it to supply the US first, then sell to other countries to bring down the price of oil world wide, taking away the money from the middle east and bankrupt them like Reagan brought down the USSR with star wars. Then when the economy can handle it, work on green energy, fire up the nuclear reactors and run them like the military runs reactors on a nuclear sub, no worries.

How about you give Obama that amount of time Reagan required or does he only get 1/8 the the time, for some reason?

If I saw one thing that would indicate that things might get better, I would agree with you, but doing the math, it doesn't add up. And remember it got worse under a democrat controlled house and senate, so I'm not looking to the democrats to make things better

Wow, so much good stuff in your post.

NAFTA was a republican fuck you from the get-go. Whoever didn't see this as a shift of the manufacturing base(and an attack on the middle class) was an imbecile.

Healthcare will never be reformed as long as lobbyists are free to throw money around like a drunken shriner at a whorehouse... without tort reform there will always be problems with health care costs and delivery.

The class warfare that the US taxcode inflicts on US society is nothing short of evil. The very wealthy pay little tax while those that work and make the economy click are ridden like beggars on a borrowed horse.

I would actually feel good about Obama if he pulled a JFK on our dependency on oil. JFK made it a national initiative to land a man on the moon. If Obama would set aside 1 trillion dollars to the first company that produced an internal combustion engine(or something equivalent) on a renewable energy source, our dependency on oil would all but cease. But that will never happen as the oil companies spend too much money in Washington.

I could go on and on about what should happen... but until money and politics aren't synonymous, I am just pissing in the wind. Obama sucks more than Bush. At least Obama is intelligent enough to know he's fucking America... Bush I am not so sure he had a clue.

Look, I am not on either side. Obama inherited a really shitty lot from Bush. But Obama is not what was advertised. The health reform promised was not what was delivered. He has done nothing to ween us off our dependency on oil. If he were truly the revolutionary that he purported to be he would make alternative fuels a priority in his administration and not pay lip service to the idea. Healthcare can NEVER be reformed as long as trial lawyers have unfettered access to the financial pillars of the healthcare system. This is not rocket science, but you can not get that far into this game unless you play ball with oil and trial lawyers... hell, probably 80% of congress are lawyers.... what does that tell you?

I know many people are invested in the dem-rep struggle. But if you look at things going on for what they are and take off the donkey or elephant cheerleeding outfit, the base solutions aren't that difficult. The guys in washington will always make it seem more complicated than it really is because it is in their best interests to do so.

Quite possibly. I thought gw was criticized for fighting in Iraq when he should have been in Afghanistan? Honest question, not trying to stir the pot. I have long ago stopped paying attention to what is happening there. I really do not know what the answer is to that situation. I am jut sad that people continue to be killed and maimed there.

Depends on who you talk to and what you believe. I believe we are in both locations for no other reason than to secure that region until the last drop of oil is pumped out. After that, we will pull out faster than a 16 year old kid scared of parenting. My problem with that lies not in what we are doing, but the way we went about doing it. We can't be upfront and public about invading other countries for oil, so we create "situations" to rally patriotic support of the public to invade under a lie.

Anyone with the ability to reason can easily figure out we are not sacrificing our soldiers and spending billions upon billions to look around the Afghani countryside for one man. That is utterly ridiculous and insulting to anyone over the age of 2. And it's not because we give a shit about the Afghani people and their "plight" with the Taliban. Look how fast we ditch countries that have nothing to offer us: Somalia.

Iraq is no different. We aren't in either location to "win the war". We are there to secure property. Nothing more, nothing less.

White House is instantly appealing it. The fight is on. My money is on the Feds.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the government will immediately appeal the ruling to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. LINK

what a fucking cluster fuck. i don't get it. the moratorium is ridiculous.
from that article
Quote:

"The president strongly believes, as the Department of Interior and Department of Justice argued yesterday, that continuing to drill at these depths without knowing what happened does not make any sense," Gibbs said. Such drilling "puts the safety of those involved, potentially puts safety of those on the rigs and the safety of the environment and the Gulf at a danger that the president does not believe we can afford right now."
how can obama and the white house claim this bullshit while the atlantis rig is still drilling?
