Well, everyone is screaming for Obama to do something... the moratorium is doing something, right? I fully agree with it. If this disaster isn't enough of a slap in the face with a dead oily fish, then I don't know what it will take. Full armageddon maybe.

Get us off oil, now. 6 months is not enough in my opinion. It should be banned until the oil companies can prove this won't happen again. The blowout "preventers" fail 45% of the time, by their own numbers. This is unacceptable.

Umm... try reading again. They only give out the loans to those people that are responsible enough but have had hard times. You know, people lost jobs, banks fucked people over, but they still have an income coming in and just need some help lowering payments. They still pay for the house either way, nobody is getting off of anything.

I do love how the republican, right wing, tea baggers would rather kick someone out of a house that nobody is going to buy rather than adjust the monthly payments so they can keep the house and pay the house off.

Well if people had the foresight to see a bad thing coming and prepare by saving for a rainy day rather than buying a big house, a boat, a atv, and a bike, we wouldnt have this problem. Now the responsible folks who did save, get to pay for it.

Again, rewarding stupidity and mediocrity. Perhpas if they do throw them out of the house and force them into something a little more realistic, say and apartment or a smaller home, they would actually learn a lesson rather than get "bailed out."

Oh, so you don't actually know how it works... these people didn't get a bailout. They have to pay the house off, just like everyone else. What they got was an adjustment in the mortgage, which increases back to normal rates after several years.

Btw, people did have savings and not every blew money - which is why a rush of people didn't do it, they "tried" to make it for several months ie: people had savings. Lots of people lost jobs, even after they have been in the house for 10 years and never having one problem, they couldn't make it. 99% of the normal working people, aren't rich and can't simply pay for everything at the drop of a dime, even with savings.

The only people that got a bailout, are people that got fucked over by banks, lending companies, sold off contracts that failed, etc... you know the big scam that took place.

I do understand how it works, I know that the Gov't does pay off the house. The Gov't drops the interest rate on the mortgage creating a lower payment.

Ohh you mean the scam they signed the dotted line for. I don't know about you, but when I'm about to make the biggest financial decision of my life, I take 30 minutes to read up on whats up. A retard could figure out those arm loans were bunk had they read for 5 minutes about them.

That's "if" you qualify for the interest rate drop through the Gov program, which very few people did. Straight up, most people didn't qualify...

Most people did qualify at the bank and mortgage level, adjusted by them. They would adjust your payments so you paid less for like 5 years while people got back on their feet, however they still paid the original amount that was contracted.

That's great for us, we can read and understand what we read. However shifty contracts, bad wording, people being lied to, and so on. Not everyone understands this stuff at the same level, and people often do trust others by nature and for sure those that you have done business with before.

Not sure what 30 mins your contracts took to read, it took us a few hours and many questions and damn near a couple hours to go over them and sign them. Hell, I was lost on my first house... got it a lot better on the second one though. No doubt some people aren't going to understand a damn thing they're reading and trust what is being told to them is true... which is required by law, enforced by the Fed Gov.
