I thought Obama had some good concepts during the campaign and made a lot of sense.

But since he got elected he just hasn't done any of those big things the he claimed in the election. It's been kind of disheartening. I think he had a lot of folks (including me) hopes up for something different. But he looks pretty much like Bush 2 as far as policy, being non-transparent, and spending money.

You don't need to be a racist to dislike President Obama. His record to date makes that easy.

If I had voted for him, I would be very disappointed.

What hasn't he done that he said he would? I agree it's not perfect, but overall he's doing what he said he would.

There is a lot of anger and noise out there right now.

By this point in Reagan's presidency, while also struggling with double digit unemployment, the democrats were laughing at the idea that he would get elected a second time too.

At this point I am more concerned on whether we can survive his first term. :(

So true... I just looked at that today. Reagan had a huge increase in unemployment happen during his first term, bigger than Obama.. it wasn't until his second term that he finally got the unemployment rate back down to normal.

If Obama was held to the same standards as Reagan, they would be hoisting Obama up on shoulders screaming his name rather than screaming that he hasn't improved everything already.

During the campaign he said some very specific things that seemed to resonate during the debates:

He said he would speak directly with our enemies. That it didn't make any sense to isolate them and NOT talk to them. That it was a failed policy that hadn't worked in half a century. Hell, that made sense to me. Why not? And of course he fell right in line when he became president and never did that.

He said he was going to bring home the troops. That our troops over there made no sense anymore. A LOT of people got excited about that. Of course he changed course when he became prez.

Not real interested in what any of us think about the reasoning behind it. Fact is, he campaigned on these kinds of things...you know real CHANGE. I voted for him on that basis. He SOUNDED like somebody who made common sense and was going to actually do something.

When you campaign on some big issues like that and then turn around and do a bail out for banks and pretend that health care was your major issue during the campaign...that's just lying.

In hindsight he appears to have been a terrific campaigner, a complete non-starter on "change", and a below average leader. :(
Of course, I voted for Bush too. So I'm 2 for 2 now. :disgust

He is doing a lot, Not sure if he knew how much work it was going to be.

He has done more than any other president to date, not sure if that is good or bad. But he is working hard.

Either his staff or himself has done this, he was railed for it, called inexperienced for it. And don't forget, not all countries are willing to talk.

You may want to read up on what he said again... His focus was the Iraq war and pulling combat troops out, then moving them to Afgan and fighting the Taliban rather than fighting a war with Afgan. He never said he was going to stop the wars and bring the troops home that I can recall.

Ron Paul was the only one preaching that.

To be fair to the man, he made it very clear that the war in afgan was going to continue on.

Don't let the talking points confuse you... those bailouts were already signed when he took office.

That's very possible... but I'm willing to give him a few more years before I make that judgment.
