-------- if this is REALLY OVER 84 CENTS i will take it back. -------- "He continues to do this shady bottom of the page 300x250 ad buying with encoded javascript ripping off companies like pornhub and extreme tube (such as here: http://www.fuxoo.com/ads/tehvids/tehvids1.html)" sounds to me like something he has been doing for a while. "He calls my partner who refuses to say anything" so you think the partner is really going to not say anything over 84 cents? sounds like he is hiding something to me. me thinks his partner was doing this long term. |
Ive worked with Arock before, I know some of what Arock owns. Nothing fishy going on on those sites. I also know Arock partners up with a lot of people. It was just a matter of time before some asshole came along and fucked it up for Arock.
Just saying what I know from my dealings with him. I should also state I have dealt with AJ before and it did not go well. But I caught the bullshit before it got out of hand and I took care of it quickly. |

to me it seems silly that his partner would risk all that money over 84 cents? me thinks his partner has been doing this for longer and adbrite just realized. |
something similar happened to me couple of years ago...
my partner was clicked on google adsense ads and then logged in to see the stats.. we were making $300-$400/day at that time on adsense so he said "he tought they won't notice couple of clicks" I have lost my google adsense account, shitload of cash, whole business/site and partner (no big deal, he's idiot anyway) with just a few clicks... what I have learned then: doing even the best biz on earth with wrong person will eventually fail! So pick your partners carefully! |

to me it sounds like they were on a shared account. and that account got canned. i have a feeling it was just not 84 cents worth, maybe 84 cents from his site he didnt know about being fraud. but to me it sounds like that account is shared with multiple domains. that is what i read correct me if i am wrong. i do not see how it would than be adbrites job to sort this out? than every fraudster would come up with excuse. |

hell now i am confused. i think he should post some screens of the stats. |
Adbrite gave me the link that had sent the fraudulent impressions. Then I simply checked google analytics and saw it had sent 4.5k uniques over a couple weeks (total, not each day). At 3 zones a page, 1.07 page views per unique (obviously bullshit traffic), that comes out to around 14k impressions. So lets say they were 7 cent per k cpm zones (this is probably a high estimate, but whatever). 7 * 14 = 84 cents. Thats how I arrived at that conclusion.
The account was not shared, the account was 100% mine. I ran all my network sites off it, the site in question only accounted for maybe 10% of the revenue generated. I invested money in the existing site, Adam took the money to invest in traffic buys or whatever he was doing with it. We ran into disagreements within the first few weeks as a good deal was wasted on poorer buys. I took care of monetizing the site, so all my affiliate accounts were on the site, including adbrite. I group batches of my sites together to gain the volume advantage to negotiate better deals. So my account was canned because an advertiser was pissed that adam was scamming them ON HIS OWN SITES, not this one, as the fraud on this site was incredibly minimal and without my knowledge. But adbrite followed things back to me because zones from my account where on the site and I owned the site together with Adam who had iframed the site on a very small scale which caused the fraudulent impressions. Thats where the 14k ad zone impressions came from (and thus 84 cents) But they have repeatedly stated that it doesn't matter, anyone that had anything to do with Adam has been banned (though I'm not aware of anyone else). I'm not sure if it was sfw ads or nsfw ads, though his other stuff I believe is sfw so most likely its some advertiser I've never heard of. This is just the typical case of an ad company with big advertisers and tons of smaller publishers. If an advertiser gets pissed off cause they were ripping someone off (like this case most likely), they yell at adbrite and adbrite bans everyone. Otherwise adbrite doesn't give a fuck, cause they still profit off these fraudulent hits. They'd rather keep a large advertiser on then a publisher (i dont even consider myself a large publisher), simply cause ad money is drying up more and more, especially with adult. |

It basically comes down to most likely a big pissed off advertiser needed to be pleased no matter what and black label ads saw an easy way to grab $6k for themselves, though such short term money grab makes me feel they are headed the way of adult profit and others. They did pay 2 weeks late in may which is never a good sign

im heading out didnt have time to read all of your new posts, post some screens, if you are innocent and your account has 0 ties i retract what i said and obviously hope it gets fixed for you.

never should have took it to the boards.

If what your saying is true quit blabbing about it and sue them. If the fraud amounts to less than a $1 and they owe you $6k the judge will make them pay you for your legitimate earnings.

Good luck sorting all this out.

I think the confusion in this thread is that when arock posts the word "partner", people assume he's been running massive amounts of business with this same guy for years, and is part of the team... Arock actually has a bunch of "partners", he has more capital than a lot of webmasters and a lot of experience running high traffic sites, so he ends up being the "money guy" in a lot of partnerships involving single sites with many different webmasters. In this case he should have protected himself by opening a seperate adbrite account for this new site, but made a mistake and forgot to. |
Actually, I DID open a separate account for the site which I ran a few months, but I realized new accounts paid net 60, but my main account paid net 30. Adbrite a long time ago was net 60, then switched to net 30, and then switched back to net 60. But since I was a long time publisher, I was kept at net 30. But that doesn't matter, they banned me personally, and the accounts i had with them.
And yes, fuzebox is correct, the site I was banned for was the only thing me and the other guy were partnered on and that accounted for something around 2-3% of my monthly profits |
