I really love how morbidly obese people get handycap parking spaces so they don't have to walk as far... and then get in those little motorized shopping carts...

Get your fat ass OUT of the cart and start walking... and park in the BACK of the parking lot... thanks.

Indeed, and if you try to go against the grain, they already came up with a name for your 'disease': Orthorexia Nervosa

An interesting article about this was published yesterday...

This is no joke: If you focus on eating healthy foods, you're "mentally diseased" and probably need some sort of chemical treatment involving powerful psychotropic drugs. The Guardian newspaper reports, "Fixation with healthy eating can be sign of serious psychological disorder" and goes on to claim this "disease" is called orthorexia nervosa -- which is basically just Latin for "nervous about correct eating."

Supposedly, I should weigh something like 175-180. That is just never going to happen unless I get very, very sick. To suggest that someone of my build is obese at 220 tilts the scales to give a skewed impression.

To get healthy and in shape means you'd have to get sick? Or you know, you could just eat properly and excercise. :2 cents:

"I'll have a Big Mac, supersize, with a Diet Coke."

Fat lady exits Lane Bryant, "let's go get Dip n' Dots."

YOU DON'T NEED IT! BACK AWAY FROM THE ICE CREAM.

I've been using several sites/resources for tracking the calories burned. So while it might not be 100% accurate, I'm using the same throughout - so it at least gives me an a baseline to what I've been able to increase, etc.

I use a combo of this: http://www.healthdiscovery.net/links...calculator.htm, the fitness app (which is where I get the bike calories from) and then on the machine I use the calorie counter built in.

Hopefully I am shorting myself - that'd be great!

cool, i've bookmarked that calc. thx :thumbsup

Yesterday, I did 30 minutes on the machine and it was set with resistance, etc and I burned 458 calories. That's doing on average 190 strides/minute and I weigh 160 lbs. So 500 on cardio is definitely a good figure for you.

And as for biking, I just love doing it. Nothing like a nice, long bike ride with some riding through the desert landscapes. So while it does burn a heck of a lot less than running, I prefer it more.

:thumbsup

By the rules, I should weigh 140 lbs. I look sick and not right at 140, I look good at 150 lbs.

I can see where you are coming from.

A lot depends on body shape.
