a Holiday wont help. Its just a feeling of the same day everyday. I'm thinking about changing things.

CunningStunt 06-30-2010 02:50 PM

Thanks for the positive feedback, I really didn't expect it from this community.

Glad to see I'm not the only one in the same boat.

A holiday will not help, it will still all be here when I get back. I tried that. An attitude shift is required.

kristin 06-30-2010 02:51 PM

It has been said, but take a vacation.

This happens to me all the time, I need a few days away from the computer, stats, admins, etc and I come back ready to take on more.

ArsewithClass 06-30-2010 04:22 PM

I think the holiday comments from a few people are quit right cunning... I never am bored but I have felt worn out recently. Thats the job though.

Vjo 06-30-2010 06:24 PM

Instead of posting (for fun) go outside, altho it may be chilly "down there" now :) and sit outside and just relax. Think where you are, think where you want to be. Just about to do that on a fab evening.

Then again I think you have achieved success which then become a whole new game. You have to stay hungry. I work cause I must. If I didnt have to, umm I'd prob would back off a bit. But lean times shows ya you can never have enuf money. Plus you got to do something.

On another note, every post I make, every thing in this biz has a flip side.. And it is about 55-45 (not an easy call sometimes)

quick odd example..

I tell you not to post as much, then I think, "he gave me a pretty good tip the other day. Telling him not to post wasnt too smart. But some of us can be honest.. some of us dont need it all.

Thanks for the tip, been meaning to thank you. As a few folks have found out, I cant resist saying thanks.. 92 times. :)

Sometimes I don't see what 90% of others see, and when someone says, "here, go there" and they aint bs'ing, they have pretty much got a friend for life. :thumbsup

I admire someone who doesnt have to have it all.

If I get to your level I will also point a few cats in the right direction.

:thumbsup

And I hope this isnt "gay" as the younger gen says. :)

But fact is, if you and TC hadnt helped me and others.. well things would not be real good to say the least right now.

So, you both should know. :)

For the record.. I have never taken a vacation since 1997. That is prob not good. But with no woman around now, I have to do it all.

That is what is really hard but that is another thread. :)

This last month June was my best month since the summer of 2007. And it was a do or die month literally as I have some debt unfortunatly.

So GFY as a whole, thank you. :) And to you two guys ,
in particular, realize..

You saved a cat from prob going under. Seriously. It would not be right to not say thanks.

I love this biz. It is all I have and I thank you.

Now back to work. Just another day. :)

and thank you to my beautiful sponsors :thumbsup

I love you all.

Vjo 06-30-2010 08:00 PM

It occurs to me CS has no idea what the tip is. :)

Ahh but sometimes we dont see how our lives and actions affect others. :)

"It's a Wonderful Life" :)

Ok, in the brave new spirit, and for anyone who doesnt have the old cat on ignore yet :) j/k this is one of the tips that helped me have a great month:

Go look at CS sig. He wasnt kidding. I know you may all know that but I didnt. And this is the kind of thing that helps a small afil stay afloat.

Signup under his refer if you poss can.

Without all the overall sharing of every poster on GFY who knowingly or not all throw a piece into the puzzle, or sometimes just give you the puzzle put together and laminated, :) there would be one less poster here tonight for what it's worth. :)

Some of you prob wish there was. :) But others see the bigger picture I believe.

I joined in 2002 but after some serious setbacks that cut my income by 85% in the fall of 2007, in deep trouble with things on the overall decline as well, working like a mofo but nothing making money, I came back "home" in 2008 and began reading. I read for about 8 months before joining in again. I am a stand alone guy. And feel I can do it all. But...

Without GFY a lot of us, including me, would be long gone.

An attitude adjustment, you say? Okay, here are a couple, all meant in a serious (and kind) way:

Start smoking marijuana. It's a value-changing drug. Sativa tho, no Indica. :D

Take a stroll down where the bums hang out, the homeless, the fucking degenerates. Take a good, long look at them. Then take a stroll to where the businessmen hang out, and look at THEM, all dressed up for Church on a Thursday, scurrying here and there, slaves to their offices and commutes.

Your life is better than either of those existences.

Be Thankful, and then your attitude will adjust naturally. Good luck. :)

Vjo 06-30-2010 08:46 PM

PS. :) I guess you havent seen my "motivational playlist" thread. :)

And no I wasnt under fucken cocaine when I did it lol as someone said but I was feeling pretty good. :) When you are on a crash course and suddenly get "lift" it feels way better than cocaine believe me.

It's true though I use playlists to motivate me. These are what I played as my plane was on a crash course the last 3 years. Refusing to say die. MY music motivated me. Your music will be diff. But create playlists that fire you up.

You'll find the crazy thread without me bumping it again. :)

search: motivational playlist :)

It had 650+ views which surprised me and starts off with my "theme"..

i love this

and when Jane Wiedlin - Rush Hour (from my playlist) gets cooking, I'm cutting and pasting like a mofo. lol :)

there ya go, Warning I was rambling a bit that night. :)

Zorgman 06-30-2010 08:48 PM

Sounds like you need some pussy. Get laid then go back to work.

CunningStunt 06-30-2010 08:55 PM

Oh god, I don't want to have to have sex with my wife again. :1orglaugh

See, that's the thing Zorgman, I have 3 licences for your tube script and haven't had the motivation to actually set up any of those 3 domains.

You are welcome.

I should point out (always loose ends in a post that size :) ) that it was not CS's sig that got my attention, prob would never notice it. It was the thread.. where you posted stats.. :thumbsup

And basicly like takeing a cat by the scruff of the neck and saying, "go that way, you will make money".

You don't see that much. So i thought wtf. Expecting hohum results as usual now days, I was conv 1 in 4 free and im still 1:12 free no matter what I throw.

BTW, can anyone tell me what the avg length of recur period (paid membership) is. It cant be monthly. I fig it must be 6 month or year.

Vjo 06-30-2010 09:48 PM

And for those who say be quiet. OK I will not be saying anymore prob. :)

But if each of us just threw one good tip once in a while it would help us all. Then anyone who wants to dig and who truly needs money and wants to work can find some tips on this board.

It is good for the industry and giving up one prog isnt going to kill anyone, espec now days.

CunningStunt 06-30-2010 10:01 PM

Not sure exactly Vjo, but they push the 12 month memberships pretty hard, and you get a fair few takers for it too judging by the typical order size:

6/28/2010 2220 756 4M, 0F 7 $312.55 $1.20 $0.00 70.0% $219.62 order details member details

That's over $44 per order, which is around the 6 month mark with AFF.

Thanks, that really helps. Yeah their projection is about 2.5 times the initial signup. But yeah when you can see some longer term stats are $44 ave then that sort of answers that.

As they in essence say with their projection (which is really cool) the recurs on ave are coming so it doesnt really matter when I guess.

Well for me I'd rather have it next month :) but I'll wait 6 or 12 for sure.

Vjo 06-30-2010 10:45 PM

I never met a loser who blew sativa :) hence I will soon be sending hits to Fellucia Blow.

Looks like ya got a bit of popularity going on there.

Popularity is a good thing. :)

Look 4 me. :)

Just dont say nuttin bad bout my avatar. lol :) j/k

CunningStunt 06-30-2010 11:31 PM

Thanks man, so much more to do.

All this posting is really just celebrating this one thing: There are some good progs still in the game for sure.

Stay positive, work smart and work hard. Things are getting better. :)

CunningStunt 06-30-2010 11:51 PM

Drop me a line, I'll put you onto a program that's even better, and unsaturated.

Vjo 07-01-2010 12:01 AM

One more thing.. you're a better man than me.. I seen your stats :) now I know you have a family and I can live cheaper than you prob but i would be tempted to loaf a bit too if you got 5 more sponsors with stats like that. :) Or even 3 more would be fine. :) 200 sites? Nice.

Another odd thing, when I really get rocking and kind of jagged out from html I think of your avatar. :) You sort of have to do the same thing over and over again just like that avatar. :)

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/image....ine=1244197968

The King of Queens, Kevin James

But it is the perfect work avatar.. over and over again is what we do.. it is the motivation you sometimes need.

Anyhow great thread. :thumbsup

Burn out from doing the same thing day in day out for 8 years? Time for a month's holiday? What has anyone else done who has been in this position to beat the blues?

Beer time. :Oh crap

What gets me motivated (other than just loving what I do) is this:

I simply watch the news or look around at the outside world. A LOT of people are hurting for money. They would give anything to be in our shoes. So when I get that burnt out feeling, I think about them and how good I really do have it.

And believe it or not, and this sounds silly, I get motivated by the old Stallone movie "Rocky 3"
I don't mean I sit down and watch it. I haven't seen it in years.

Buy I always remember how the character that Mr. T played was training and training while Rocky was coasting on his laurels. I've used that to motivate myself playing in bands over the years and I still use it today.

I always think in the back of my mind that somewhere, somebody is busting ass just a little bit harder than me and he's gonna kick me out of my spot.

Scares the hell out of me. So I guess FEAR is a big motivator for me. lol

But yeah, definitely take a vacation. Not a month long one. You'll go nuts.

I'm gonna fly to San Diego to the beach for 3 days this month. I have found that 3 days is just about right for me. I'm gonna leave my laptop at home. And just walk away from everything for 3 days. By the end of that 3rd day I guarantee you I will be chomping at the bit to get back to work. And when I get back home I'm gonna be on fire!

CunningStunt 07-01-2010 12:07 AM

Well, it's ski season here now, I think I'll take most people here's advice and have a few days down at the snow (without the family). http://www.mthotham.com.au

Thanks folks :upsidedow

OK will do right away. Thanks a lot. I'll give you two of my best in the email. :)

BTW, you were right. Someone along my education told me to spell it "alot". I looked it up and it is indeed "a lot".

So educational around here. :)

Fear of going broke keeps me motivated as well. :)

The money goes down QUICK if you suddenly aint bringin it in.

For me it is simply being free at 10:00 am on a Tues Morning. There are are many people who always have to work at that time. I would hate to be tied to that.

But perhaps most, we can make our own schedule which is real BIG in the game of life. :)

If I need to brush my teeth no prob. If I need a nap no prob. eat when I want, get my needed sleep (ooh that is a biggy isnt it) ect, ect.

This goes a long way as the years go by to keep you looking shiny and new. :winkwink:

I knew being self employed was my greatest goal and I never take it for granted.

Lot of years ahead. Make hay while the sun shines for sure.

1. Rent an office in a building with lots of other offices - having to get out of the house and seeing other people rushing about helped me

2. Spend more money, buy an expensive car, remodel your kitchen or something like that. The more i spend the more motivated i get. Sitting back and watching the bank account grow made me lazy.

3. Pretend you had to look for a 9-to-5 job. Look at the job classifieds. Go on a few job interviews. The thought of having to work for someone else makes me wanna puke and lights a fire under my ass. You need to remind yourself how good you have it. :)

For the Euro crowd renting an office is a waste of time, as you usually work more towards US hours, so you find yourself in an empty building with the cleaners.

I take the laptop up into the mountains for a few days in a cabin, or last year I rented a villa for the summer, worked 6 hours a day instead of the usual 12+ and enjoyed the beach. A complete holiday does my head in a bit, but reduced hours does wonders for productivity.

a vacation usually helps me. Nothing shorter than two weeks because for the first few days I'm more or less thinking about work anyway, heh.
