If I had an eleven year old, they would not have internet in their room, a cell phone, or anything else like that. Sure, they could use the internet in an area of the house under supervision, and a cell they could be contacted on when out somewhere, but 11 years olds don't need unfettered access to the outside world.

Someone needs to get in there and straiten her family out for allowing this to happen. This is no ones fault but theirs. There is no reason that that kid should have had that kind of access at her age and no supervision as to what she was doing.

I agree with the others that she was stupid to post vids such as she did, and the family is mainly at fault here, but cyber bullying an 11 year old regardless of circumstance is not really acceptable.

No one forced her to shoot those videos, say those things, or post it online. I don't blame her, I blame her parents entirely. I don't know where she's hanging out or why adults are conversing with her, but I do know that we're not responsible for the backlash she gets over it. Like I said before, this is the Internet. I have no doubt she is currently being mocked on hundreds if not thousands of sites all over the world as we speak. It will get worse... much worse... before it gets better. And then she will be yesterday's news... utterly forgotten except for nostalgic chuckles down the road. And that will likely sting her even more when she figures out that she's not special or important, and her fifteen minutes have come and gone in a less than optimal way.

She wanted to fuck around online with grown-ups, and discovered it's not a nice world out there. Hard lesson, but obviously much more effective than the parenting she's been receiving so far.

My thoughts are that while it does indeed suck to be her right now, that the cyber bullying may have unintended good consequences. I spent a little while reading up on this, and it's clear that she is being allowed to do things that are totally age inappropriate, both off and online.

I would wager that CPS will be involved in this before it is over with because of the topless pic. Maybe that will get it through her parent's head that they need to actually parent her.
