Soon after both lawsuits were filed (months ago), Mansef was sold to Virage Media / Manwin (who we still have very little info about). So far as I know, both lawsuits are still moving forward. Meanwhile the frontman for Manwin, Nathan / Fabian Thylmann, has been less than forthcoming about answering questions regarding the company which has taken over Mansef's assets. See this thread for the questions the self-proclaimed Managing Partner of Manwin has cowardly ducked from for days now: http://www.gfy.com/17348326-post421.html To continue with answering your questions, several significant adult industry copyright cases have in fact successfully been waged and won, or settled out of court, to the benefit of the suing company (the plaintiff). If you were a content producer, then you would understand what some of the "bitching" is about, since it shouldn't be too hard to understand that if you spend significant money to create content, you wish to profit from the content you created, and decide whom else may or may not financially benefit from it as well. At it's essence, that afterall is what copyrights are all about. Stealing is a violation of the law and wrong, and hiding behind loopholes in the law, is both morally and ethically, equally wrong. Unfortunately, some people in this industry are severely lacking in morals and ethics, or are willing to get in bed with what I can only regard as thieves, in a feeble attempt to protect their stake in the biz, not fully realizing that once they have exposed their vulnerability and weakness to the predators, it will only be a matter of time until they are devoured by the same predators whom they have supplicated themselves/their companies before. It is undeniable that the DVD market is reeling, and pretty much on its knees, from their content being ripped off (or them selling off old catalogs in a desperate attempt to remain in business), and with internet pirates ripping and offering tons of their content (much of which was originally shot exclusively for DVD) for free on tube sites who are subsidizing their bandwidth and profiting using stolen/unauthorized content (like the bandits they are), by making money from companies advertising other non-video products (pills, dating services, cam shows, toys, etc), or upselling memberships to even more/better content (much of which is also alleged by some to be stolen). In doing so, they have massively drained the traffic (the life-blood) from the traditional internet-based affiliate programs and paysites. On top of all this, shamefully, many of the largest producer/content reseller companies are being co-opted, or are offering up snippets of their content, in what almost appears to be a quasi protection racket (extortion), to ensure that the bulk of their content is not wholesale stolen and uploaded, in exchange for relatively meager profits or link-backs posted alongside several upsells and traffic leaks which they gain no benefit from whatsoever, which likely yields very little to them for their cooperation/participation, compared to what they might otherwise make if they would band together to fight content piracy, and create a better, more equitable, infrastructure for the industry as a whole. Don't get me started about the producers such as Brazzers and Mofos (aka Mansef) that are/were behind many of the worst offending tube sites themselves, despite their lies and deception about not being involved. And still some would defend these people?!? :disgust I blame fear, greed, and short sightedness, for much of the problem. Many can attest, that even though I am a small independent producer, I have been on the front lines of the anti-piracy effort from the beginning. I do not wish to bow down to the people whom have been instrumental in destroying much of the industry as most of us know it. I will continue to fight what I believe to be the good fight, and stand up for my beliefs. I am fortunate that I have mainstream business interests which are independent from my adult businesses (I actually operate several web sites, not one), so I am not dependent upon adult for my livelihood, even though I do fairly well in adult, and have plans to grow my adult businesses as best I can, given the current state of the economy and the industry. I am also optimistic that the laws will eventually catch up with the technology, and that many of the people/companies behind the recent demise of the adult biz as we know it, will eventually be brought to justice, and be driven out of the business through stricter enforcement, and through the non-cooperation of industry people/companies with better business morals and ethics. Well, hopefully, I've answered your questions theking (even though you won't answer even one simple one of mine, which is to name what adult web sites you currently operate/work for?). Now if only Nathan / Fabian Thylmann would quit being a coward, and come in and answer my straightforward and simple questions honestly (see earlier link in this thread), maybe more people might trust him and his company. Absent that, I do not think that he or his company are worthy of trust from honest and ethical people or companies in the adult industry. :2 cents: ADG |

You have articulated your positions quite well, and while I might not agree with all of them, I do understand them. I am not trying to be a gadfly here, I genuinely would like to see the questions which I posed to Nathan / Fabian answered. To me, that would go a long way towards establishing whether we will see any real changes with Mansef / Manwin, or if it will be just more smoke and mirrors, and business as usual. Finally, I don't think that it has to come down to an "I told you so" moment between you and I, since there is certainly more than one way to conduct business, and I like to think that our friendship runs deeper than that. I wish you well, and look forward to having that beer with you before too long... :drinkup P.S. I was just up in Seattle recently, and thought about calling you, but I was dealing with my Dad passing away, and so I spent time with my family while up there instead. Will76... respect to you too for using an open source image to mock me with. At least that shows that you not a hypocrite about content copyrights. Respect.
You aren't a bad guy and I apologize for busting your balls. You are free to criticize us as you see fit. Hopefully, you can hear me on these simple points. We don't condone theft of content. We know that all the "user" submitted tubes exist in a grey area of being considered "theft" - and this is true for mainstream as well, ie, YouTube before it was cleaned up, etc. We took the time and effort and expense to weigh this problem in depth and decided on a course of action that is highly controversial. We did not make the decision lightly. You say they are "theives" but forgive me, until that is proven by something like the PV lawsuit, or government crackdown, or whatever, I have to go by innocent until proven guilty. People call Google and Bing theives for the same reasons. Do you think they are? I have not had the problems others encountered. Why should I go by anything else that people I don't even know claim? How do I know their intentions? What if someone claimed someone you work with and have only had a good experience with was bad? Would you go by the accusation of someone you don't know or the experience of your own relationship? We work with Google and Bing to make money, even though they "stole" a ton of our content. Right or wrong. Ethical or unethical? If only it were so simple. I know that sharing this has prompted such criticism and ridicule but hopefully people can see that there are a lot more intricacies to this than just who or who didn't upload content. On that count, it is not a matter of us not caring as people here accuse, it is a matter of taking control of the situation in a way that doesn't hurt us with costly litigation against an uncertain outcome, that can reverse a loss to a profit, and that adjusts to the ever changing landscape of how the industry evolves. We wish it could be as black and white as you see it, if it were, trust me, I would be in total agreement, but that is just not the case. For us, there are so many shades of grey and we have to find our own way through that fog. Sorry that we have to be at odds as a result. |

If you looking for respect or approval from people here for your actions, then I think you would get that if you were just honest with people and said you doing it because you want to make money. Instead of trying to defend pornhub with all of the bs no one is buying anyway. |

While others have forgotten it or are numbly unaware of it - its not anything that I will ever forget. For all of us that have videos on our sites - I thank you and your company for its tenacity to see that to its end. I can explain that perhaps more clearly by saying that if my car is one of those that has been plastered with ads like a metro bus then someone driving it around before I got it back isn't hurting me too terribly. Inconveniencing, yes, but at the end of the day it was not a total disaster. Would I want them to ask next time? Yes. Would it be ok to do it with out asking? No. Of course not. But I blame myself for leaving the keys out and will take steps to avoid that in the future. Hope that makes more sense. |

Still you try to continue to hide, perhaps curled up in the corner sucking your thumb (or some other appendage of one of your masters/partners), unable to respond to very simple questions. ADG,
One reason I am not answering your post is that you do not care about the answers anyway. If you would care, you would not ask questions I have answered previously, neither would you act like a 5 year old and post pictures or trying to redicule me. All you care about is stirring this up over and over again, even me answering these questions again would just make you post some stupid picture and then claim I am just lying anyway. The main reason I am not answering though is that you have not only threatened me, but you actually had the nerve to threaten my family. This is not a game ADG, this is business. If all you can do is threaten, post pics and make confusing remarks to try to make me look bad, then I do not care what you think of me or Manwin. I have invited you to Miami to talk, you declined that, I am not going to invite you again. This is my last post in this thread. If you would have just been a standup guy and not resorted to name calling and threats, I would have actually answered your questions again. But you have stepped clearly over any rational way of dealing with this so the subject is closed for me. |

You say I do not care about your answers to questions I have posed to you repeatedly, and which you have so far not answered, but indeed I do care, as do many others in the adult industry, since you claim to have acquired a company that is widely disdained (and believed to have caused much damage) in the adult industry, and yet you have asked everyone to trust you, without providing answers to even the simplest of questions, such as, who are the other partners/investors in your venture? To deflect your failure to answer these questions, you have falsely stated that I have somehow threatened you and your family, which is plain ridiculous, when I have stated just the opposite, that I do not wish to cause you or your family any legal problems or embarrassment. Plain and simple, I think you are a coward, or have something to hide, Nathan / Fabian Thylmann, if you once again refuse to answer my straightforward questions (anyone can see, none of my questions should appear threatening to either you or your family). So, for the record, here are the questions that I pose to you, and which you appear afraid to answer, even though they should not be construed in any way as a threat to you or your family (unless by answering them you feel somehow endangered - which could mean that you are hiding some illegal activity/associations): 1) Name who your "partners" are in Manwin, since you claim to be a "Managing Partner". 2) Who else is an investor in Manwin? 3) What role/relationship, if any, do Stephane Manos or Q-u-i-s-s-a-m Youseff have with Manwin (remove the hypens in Mr Youseff's first name - he has apparently asked the GFY moderators to disallow the posting of his first name, for some mysterious reason; could this mean he has something to hide?). 4) Does Virage Media Limited still exist? If not, when did it cease to exist, and why? Are the former Virage Media Ltd properties now part of Manwin? 5) When did Manwin come into existence, and who are the partners/investors? 6) When did Manwin acquire Mansef? In March or July of this year, or whatever date? From what I have heard, the purchase occurred soon after the US Federal Government and Pink Visual (Ventura Content) launched lawsuits against Mansef for money laundering/illegal bank activity and copyright violations. 7) Is Bob Rice still a part of your Manwin operation? If not, when did he leave? 8) What business relationship/association(s) have you, or any companies associated with you, (such as Virage Media, or HQtube and Xtube) had with Envisionext/Stan Fiskin? Was he ever an officer/employee with Virage Media? 9) What business relationship, if any, do you have with Jain Shaileshkumar (aka Sam Jain) or Bjorn Daniel Sundin (aka Daniel)? Some people here seem to think there is a money connection somehow. 10) Would you consider contributing some of Manwin's profits to an industry-wide anti-copyright/anti-piracy effort? There clearly are no threats to you or your family in the above questions. As anyone can see, you are simply making up a bogus excuse to refuse to respond to these straightforward questions, if you should provide no answers. Your failure to respond speaks volumes about your character and your company, and does not answer any of the legitimate questions that I and others have raised/asked about you or your company. As I have stated before, simply answer these questions, and I will ask you no more questions here. I give you my word. You claimed that you have answered my questions previously. If so, please show the post where you have answered completely, not in part, all of the above questions, or else answer them forthwith. It's time to come clean Nathan / Fabian Thylmann ... No threats here. If you want to be trusted in this industry, you must first prove yourself worthy of trust, by answering simple straightforward questions about the company you have acquired which has a negative past, instead of hiding behind false excuses. ADG |
ADG, you are doing plenty of things you can really only be doing to try to harm me... there is absolutely no other reason to do so otherwise, thus, every single post of yours is a threat.
Things included are btw: - posting questions I have answered multiple times already, just to make it seem as if I did not for people reading only parts of the thread - continuously claiming how you are so nice and not asking other questions you could ask which would harm my family in your opinion (this btw is a threat) - posting my full name on this board, although I really really do not care that you do, you obviously only do it because you think it pisses me off in some way This is also why I find it useless to answer your questions, since you will simply not let go anyway... but, that said, I will still answer them one more final time, but I am 99.99% sure that you will not care and will just go on since you will simply claim I am lying... I am also posting this for the other people in this thread who have been very friendly in asking questions compared to you... So we will see how much your word is worth... 1) There are no other shareholders other than people that have very low %age of shares for incentive reasons in a big business. If you do not understand why I can not post confidential information like this, so be it, but I can not, its not my place to do so. Also, as I have stated before, we are talking max 1-2%. 2) Nobody 3) No role 4) Nothing there changed currently. 5) Manwin was started this year. The second part of the question I have answered in 1 and 2. 6) Noone acquired Mansef, we acquired their assets. As we have stated in multiple locations in this thread and in press releases, 1st of March 2010. You are misinformed when the US Gov case against Mansef was started I think, and regarding Pink Visual, yes as you yourself know very well it was filed end of February 2010. If you think this shows that this is a fake transaction, then I suggest you wait until the court cases are concluded, since before that is the case, anything you think in this regard is simply based on misinformation or not enough knowledge of the situation. 7) he never was a part of Manwin. He did work for me for a couple of months end of 2008, beginning 2009, to find more possible acquisitions simply because he has a lot of contacts in the industry. 8) Stan was, but nolonger is. As I have said previously also btw and you simply chose to ignore this. Things change. 9) I have had a business relationship with Sundin many many years ago until he ripped me off and now owes me money from a group of services we owned together with a 3rd person named Preston Garisson (sp?). 10) We already do that. Well, it depends on what you call "industry-wide" I guess... |
