Yes, read up. Police are many more times likely to injure a innocent person when reporting to a scene than civilians. They are many more times likely to kill an innocent person than a civilian defending themselves with a gun.

actually i think you live in awful places and should consider moving. and you have a wrong picture about what the police job is too. "to serve and protect" - does this tell you anything?

i never had any problems with police - oh wait, i once almost got "arrested" for playing with fireworks when i was 11 and those fuckers told my parents although they promised not to.

Maybe people need to start complying with police and not think they are above the law. I do think the police shouldn't have tazed/pepper sprayed her, but maybe next time she'll answer their question when they ask her name.

Both officers lost their jobs over this, one quit, the other fired. Other cops have looked at all the facts and have judged them guilty of wrong-doing.

Thus the woman obviously has grounds, she should sue both officers and the police department.

If the mutherfucker tased me in the back of his patrol car after I called for help, I'd have done everything in my power to fucking kill him. Of course those types of actions may result in death, but I'd be taking someone with me. Like I've said before, when you have a situation, whether it's a prowler or home invasion or whatever, you are MUCH better off not calling the fucking keystone cops. I've seen enough to know that this is an abuse of power from the police. The second cop to the scene walks out of his car with the taser in his hand ready to go. He had ever intention of using it before he even saw her. Even worse she's on the floor already when he's using it. It also sounds like he's using it as he's yelling at her to get into the car. I don't know how easy it is to pick yourself up off the ground and move into the back seat of a car while being tased.

From my understanding she grabbed the purse well before she got tased. It sounds like it happened when she was just speaking to the older cop. She was chased down and pepper sprayed for that. It's still not justification for getting the taser.
