With the right list, class c's, and script, anyone can send 100+ sales a day. Good luck on finding all three , though.

lol, I was just going to say something about true whales and not notorious spammers, which are really more like sharks in whale clothing...

:winkwink:

FrozenJag 08-10-2010 06:51 PM

I hope to one day be a whale.

If conversions were like they were a few years ago then I would be a whale. Sadly that is not the case and im a mere fish with dreams of whalin it up. :)

I wont stop though, not to worry.

IMO, if you add up all the little affiliates sending a few sales a day or a week or a month, the majority of sales and profits are coming from them as opposed to a few whales. Especially considering many of the little affiliates will never reach payout.

So in the same context as fatfoo's post, an affiliate program needs 1000's of little affiliates and cannot survive on 1 big whale.

Well, you probably have a better idea towards the answer than most people and know there are indeed a few still around. Though, I do think most people will call 'whale' at much lower numbers these days.

Roald 08-11-2010 08:03 AM

quite a few a would say, probably more than most people think.

well that was going to be my next question

what is a determining factor in todays market to call someone a whale?

20 joins?
50?

In the real ocean there are whales of various sizes. The 100 per day ones are still around but the vast majority of those that I deal with never touch the boards. I would say it is more common for the 50 a day range to come find me and want to talk to do deals but the 100s are still there. I don't think there are many affiliate support people that would turn down 20 or 50 a day though.

Well yeah, I will talk happily to everybody from the one a month guys to the 100 a day. On occasion the couple a days have needed some hand holding and then turn into a whale. So, no point in turning your back on anybody.

This should have been quantified at the beginning. When I talk whales, I'm talking 100 plus signups a day.

You might consider looking up Pareto's law. I'm willing to bet that for almost any given affiliate program, that somewhere around 20% of their affiliates make up 80% of their income. :)

Been renovating the house so i cant wait to finally be able to use it without thinking "now what am i going to put there" LOL.

ill see if i cant put together an oldtimers gathering. That would really be a blast.
