I would be damn happy if any of my affiliates could send 5 a day anymore. I'm running over 90% type-ins these days. The traffic from "real" affiliates just isn't there anymore.

I missed this earlier. I want to quote it, because it's the truth.

I would have thought most whales send to there own sites now in the main.

I know it was the smartest thing I have done in the last 5 yrs.

Gotta a lovely program. I am the only affiliate so I do not have to worry about dodgy joins killing my merchants , and I know I am getting a fair count and I do not have to worry that I will pull up stakes and depart leaving me fucked .;-)

Though I confess sometimes I get the urge to shave my own joins to my own sites just for old times sake. ;-))

I know of a few, but they spread their traffic out.... or they're 100% black hat.

I mean, even if not number of whales, but how many true affiliate joins do you all think are still out there? 20000 a day? 50000 a day?

Before you make an estimate, think about the revenue implication... 20000 a day means roughly 1m a day in affiliate revenue at a 50 member value which I think is fair... Possibly a little high for some and a little low for others... That's 30m a month, 360m a year in pure revenue generated by affiliates... Is that a feasible number? Or is it the 50000 which would translate into 900m a year in pure revenue generated by affiliates...

Curious to see what you all think...

they are still around..look only me and RichC surfaced...most stay low , happy with the deals they have... I would say there may be 100 webmasters able to send 100 joins a day..no problem.

Back in the day...

Everyone was on Netpenis.Maybe 20 whales a day would post and every major program owner posted there.

It made whale hunting easy.And whales got to know the program owners themselves and build a relationship.Very key if 5k a day plus is changing hands...

Dumbest thing I ever did then was I started paying people to post on Netpenis.

Program owners had got to the point where they were more impressed by quantity of posters rather than quality of posters. So the more impressions i got the more i could charge in advertising ;)

It watered down the webmaster traffic basically.

The Webmaster soup if you will had more water in it then meat and veg. Back then there was only YNIT and netpenis.

When me and meat and aga started fighting it allowed lensman to get a foothold here and opran0 opened then jbm splintered away from it..yadda yadda yadda...

By 2006 every bastard and his brother had there own webmaster board. LOL

The whales are out there still , they really just do not have anywhere to post.

I have posted more in the last two days than in the last yr.

I wonder if there are any whales left that actually send traffic that converts into a hundred sales a day as opposed to just selling x-sales. Those are the guys I think of as whales. Real affiliates doing it. Are there any big free sites that could do that anymore? Or is it all just paysites sending x-sell joins to other paysites?

Can somebody name one big free site left that can do that since piracy, tubes, and filesharing & bit torrent sites took over? :)

I was talking 100 orgainic joins , self generated....however the individual webmaster generates them.

Really? Back a few years ago there were only a few of us that had that kind of juice. So you're saying that NOW with everybodies traffic gone to pornhub, redtube, youporn, etc. that there is still an honest free site that can send that many? Damn.

You must know something that I don't. I'm looking at the freesites that still have the most traffic left...and I'm not sure that any of them could send 50+ sales in a day like it used to be.

I suppose a site that still has traffic like the hun might could send 50+ TRIALS if it was super pushed. But not with any consistency. I would imagine it would die down after a day or two. But that's just my thoughts, I have absolutely nothing but my own experience to back it up.

I'm guessing you are seeing stats to some of hahaha's sites that back it up. Me? Well, my biggest affiliates when I opened up Claudia-Marie.Com WERE sending me 30+ a day. Now? Those same sites have 1/20th the traffic they used to have (again, everybody is watching full length vids at pornhub instead of coming to our freesites) and they are lucky to send 30 joins in 6 months.

I'm talking FULL joins by the way. Not trials.

We are making an absolute killing on type-ins and search engine traffic that I've built up through branding and busting ass. But our affiliates don't account for hardly any sales anymore.

It's not their fault...they are in the same boat I'm in as an affiliate. My traffic is all over at the full length scene tubesites these days. :(

Traditional free sites? Not tubes? I'd think they went the way of the dodo bird.

I'd be shocked to see 50+ real organic joins coming from anywhere these days. Maybe trial joins, but full joins? I just don't know how they would do that. Most of the big search terms are already taken by the big tube sites. And the small niches, can they even do a hundred a day ever?

And if you could somehow pull off a hundred joins organically with no x-sell joins involved...how many days could that possibly last in this day and age before the people buying memberships starts to drop off?

And if it's really happening out there "secretly" and under the radar...then why is everybody so hurting for money? Shouldn't all the programs be living it up high on the hog with their super secret mystery whales keeping the money flowing like it's 1999?

Just asking. It just don't all add up from where I'm at here. I know, I know....somebody is going to say in a tone that insinuates they know some super secret info that us mortals don't have, that there are huge whales out there just killing it with mysterious search engine keywords that somehow eluded everybody else.

I suppose so. But in my experience...that just isn't the case. And as I look at the companies going out of business and the rest of them cutting staff and lowering operating costs in every way just trying to survive these times...it doesn't make any sense.

Not saying it ain't true. But I don't see how. And I'm pretty clever and know how to make money...but these top secret affiliates sending millions of dollars a year in sales just doesn't quite fit in with the decline in revenue of most paysites out there who have been pirated almost out of business.

But if it is true...could one of you mystery whales at least help me to understand where you find these people who don't already know the site you're selling already has the members area ripped for free waiting for them all wrapped up nice and easy to download and linked up on the biggest porn surfer forums in the world. Cause I can't even talk to a stranger anymore and mention I'm in porn without them saying: "Isn't that all free now?"

I agree that they have no place to post anymore or no need to.. But I just do not see any program or sites that is getting any big number of joins from whales, if there were these sites you would think you stumble across them...
That is why I was wondering where these minimum
10000 joins a day are going too... If they are scattered all over the place I could believe it, but if they are to a few specific programs then it's strange to...

You basically hinted that you think the whales just have a few friends they rely on to send the traffic to out of trust and past relationship... So it can not be to so many different targets?

There are only very few programs that I have seen or talked to in the past 3 years which are big in sales (as in 1000+ a day) let alone big in affiliate joins... So either all these joins are going to a handful of known programs I have not seen yet, or to basically hidden ones that are hush hush somehow..

What it comes down to is that I would obviously like to understand what I can do to get my hands on a good chunk of those 10000 joins, wherever they are...

then 10-20 to sevearl others.
