Nevertheless, I'd be very happy to read everything you have about Switzerland being a socialist country, I'm sure it will be very informative. Since it's the first time in my life I hear it, I'm very interested in knowing your sources.

As for TheDemon, what can I say... he's the clown everybody laughs and point fingers as the dumbest person in Earth, to be honest I tend to feel pity for him and how everybody laughs at him, so if TheDemon backs your POV, then you should be really worried

btw, just in case, here's some common definitions of socialism
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/socialism
http://www.econlib.org/library/Enc/Socialism.html (here you have an ultra-right vision so you can't complain other sources are too "leftist")
http://www.answers.com/topic/socialism

if you can find a slight resemblance of the definition of socialism and Switzerland government, please let me know it. Again, I'm extremely curious and I'm always willing to learn something new

Just in case, before you go further, are you sure you're not confusing socialism with WELFARE STATE? take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welfare_state and you'll see Switzerland mentioned there, while I couldn't find anything related to Switzerland and Socialism ANYWHERE. Just face up you fucked up and told some non-sense in your effort to back 2 ignorant individuals like Nethorse and everybody's clown OR let me know how did you get the strange idea that Switzerland (commonly known as one of the symbols of capitalism) is slightly connected to socialism :helpme

Where at did i say that Switzerland was a socialist county?

Just in case your'e confused ill re-post it for you.

I think NetHorse's Socialism comment was referring to the fact that Switzerland is a Federal republic which ensures the availability of social security, health care, housing and general monetary benefits to its citizens. So much so that its apart of the Swiss Federal Constitution under Fundamental Rights, Civil Rights and Social Goals as a county.

I think you might be confusing national socialism or social democracies where everything is nationalized. Switzerland is a Direct Democracy with mixed economic freedom that ensures specific rights are promised to its citizens in accordance to the social programs outlined in its Constitution.

Sounds fair to me... if they would do that here a lot less people would be doing it. Hell in America he would have went to jail for reckless endangerment, lic suspended and a few various fines, car impounded, loss of insurance and a hell of an increased rate.

We would have spend money on courts and jail for someone going that fast and the fines aren't big enough to cover the cost... in Switzerland they take money from the person and life goes on.

Anyone that thinks Switzerland is doing it wrong needs to put into a padded room.

Raf1 08-13-2010 11:46 PM

That is way above reasonable, even for someone making millions.

Rui 08-14-2010 01:16 AM

So your OK with getting stopped going 10 mph over the limit and paying a fine 20x what another guy received for doing the same thing? Just because you've worked hard, saved and invested?

And whats to stop economic profiling? A cop sees a BMW 7 series going 8 mph over or a piece of shit doing 15 mph over the limit. Who do you think he's pulling over with this law? The one he can get $50 out of or the one that is going to rake in $1,000+?

Naechy 08-14-2010 11:43 AM

he will pay, when he has money for car like this

He's going to arrest the one with brown skin for being an illegal, so that the CCA & the governor of AZ & her cronies can profit from their private prison scheme.

A. That has absolutely nothing to do with this thread.
B. Read what you wrote.. There going to arrest someone for being an illegal. You mean they're going to actually make an arrest based on someone breaking the law? *gasp*

Aside from your blatant denial and delusions, your inability to use the English Language is staggering. :) :) :)

Amputate, I've already made fun of you but if you'd like, I'm sure gfy can raise more than enough money for you to leave the country for good.

Fuck a chicken Demon. The only thing you've "done" here is embarrass yourself. You believing I actually give a fuck about you or your "views" is the richest of all. :1orglaugh

Go ahead Demon. Amuse me some more. :)

Good lord Amputate, you've just taken the two things I've told you the past two weeks, and thrown them back at me. Please, continue amusing us with this game of "I know you are but what am I", and then wonder why you're not taken seriously. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Learn to read. Not once did I say he shouldnt pay the fine. He broke the law. In fact I said he should be arrested and have his DL revoked. My point is the law is absurd.

I get it also. You're a complete liberal nutjob.

LOL, I checked GFY last night around 1 am right before I went upstairs to crash.... I noticed you spent pretty much all of Friday night here on GFY arguing about pointless shit again D. Take a look in the mirror big D. You've got some failure on your chin. :1orglaugh

Pretty much all of Friday? You're right, 30 minutes is "pretty much all of Friday" rofl. Then again, you spend the majority of your day on gfy, so you when you claim to have "checked", you're really saying you stayed up all night checking and needed some validation. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Oh.... trying to minimize your failure now D? You put up 4 pages of utter mongoloid mumbling in 30 minutes? LOL, well I suppose for you that's possible, since you aren't burdened with actual thought.... but I don't believe it. I believe it really did take you all night to put up 4 pages of your "views". :1orglaugh

I would definitely love for you to show us these '4 pages' that I put up, and in 30 minutes roflrofl. But I suspect you've fallen back to your last resort before conceding failure and stupidity; flat out bullshit. Have fun with this one champ:) :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Ahhh, the usual suspects at it again. Lovely!

Some of you never miss a chance to publicly show off how clueless you really are. The driver, a 37 year multi-millionaire from SWEDEN was driving his Mercedes AMG on a Swiss autobahn (like interstate roads, but with the difference that autobahn has free speed on some sections, it works remarkably well!).

So we have a Swedish citizen, from the country SWEDEN
driving his car, down in continental Europe, more specifically in the country SWITZERLAND.

He didn't realize that he left that part of autobahn with unlimited speed (probably from going so fast he didn't notice the signs) and instead drove into a part of autobahn with speedlimits. The permanent speed cameras couldn't even measure his speed, because he was going too fast for them to be able to get a read on him. The police had to manually clock him with their handheld laser equipment which put him a bit over 180 MPH.

So, we have a citizen from a different country, being cought in another country where he thought/believed that speed was unlimted.

Some here have absolutely no clue what they're talking about and should really try to take some reading comprehension class or something, then try to get out more and how about discovering the world, which is actually out there.

Or is mummy's basement really that comfy?

The almost one million dollar speeding ticket is calculated from the value of the car, and part of the owner's income. You guys should really try to get out more and remember what I said about reading comprehension.

Who knows, one day, you just might get it right, once in awhile ? !

What a fucked up law it is.

Should be something like X amount of fine, Y days in prison. If you are rich bastard, pay XX amount per day instead of prison.

Then it would be almost fairly equal for poor and rich. But this way, $1 million ticket is so fucking stupid.

Or we could just say the truth.. going more than double the speed limit is reckless endangerment, which can be a federal offence in America. This guy was doing more than double the speed limit. So really, no reason to discuss the guy going 11, 20 or even 50 mph over as those situations spark up other various levels of the law already.

So yes, going more than double the speed limit should allow for different levels of fines, possible jail times, community services, and so on - which it also already does in America. I see nothing wrong with a person getting a million dollar fine, that benefiting the community/state, and that person able to go back into society and keep producing wealth. They aren't a criminal, but they should be taught a lesson that slaps them back into this reality without sending them to a paid vacation resort 'jail' for the rich.

i know your point was an attempt to insult but you might want to grab a mirror

Quote:

Some countries fine speeders on the basis of income. Switzerland is one of them.

The man claimed the speedometer on the car was broken.

The speeding Mercedes ran past several photo-radars before being caught. Older radar models were not capable of clocking a car going over 200 km/h (124 mph). When he went past one with new technology, he was photographed and clocked at around 290 km/h (180 mph).

The technology allows for the data to be sent to the police immediately, who then dispatched a patrol car to pull over the speeding SLS.

Swiss authorities claim there is a myth in Scandinavia that all German-speaking countries, including Switzerland and Austria, have no speed limits on their autobahns, which isn't true, of course. In Germany, certain stretches of autobahn have no official limit, others do, but police can still fine you for reckless driving.

For someone going 186mph I have no issue with a $1m fine or jail time/fine/whatever.

My point was on the absurdity of the law and how it isnt only in place for people going 186mph.
