You da man Baddog! Great pics :)

It was pretty grueling in parts of the country (I'm looking at you, UT, CO and WY). I am looking at temps about 20 - 30 degrees cooler at the beginning of my ride home tomorrow. Then I will hit NV and it will go back up to triple digits. :Oh crap :helpme

I knew you would like that one. The last album I put up has at least 100 motocross pics. I got several hundred. Some really nice air shots.

Glad you enjoyed, OY. I can't wait to get home and have some myself.

Rode about 425 miles today, until I hit tornado force winds and was forced to take shelter. Can't believe the wind blew a button off my jacket. Hopefully, no more rain so I won't need it for the rest of the trip.

All of my prior visits have been at the beginning of the run. This year I got there on Thursday evening. I think that was a brilliant idea. I talked to people that were on their way home as I was getting close. I was told there were about 1,250,000 people there. By the time I got there it had thinned out pretty good. In fact yesterday Sturgis was almost back to ghost town status.

I loved it. No long lines, no traffic. Just the way I like it.

Looks like the storm passed. Think I will try to make it to a decent sized town.

Fat Panda 08-16-2010 09:01 PM

the self shots are great!

baddog 08-16-2010 09:02 PM

woo hoo . . . storm let up enough for me to add some miles. 495 today and only 865 to go.

Wait until I get the pics up from the ride home. Very little blue sky until I hit Utah, then it was so dang hot that the clouds never stood a chance.

Well, figure over one million people come in. Most stay for several days. Put it this way, without Bike Week . . . .

:1orglaugh - I was just going through this thread and noticed your "Blue Boy" reference. That was probably my favorite episode of Dragnet. I remember using that character (based loosely) in a story I had to write in the 7th or 8th grade.

It was great, kids in my class new of it and wanted to be included in it, so I did. What I will never forget is that when I had to turn it in we had a substitute teacher, younger than our normal teachers. She wasn't sure how she should feel about it.

*edit: Just watched the clip and was reminded of another story. Same year, I am in history class, bored as Ms Haley is lecturing/reading to us. I started doodling and traced my hand with a thumbs down image, then wrote: Live and let live, down with pigs"

Apparently my intense attention was enough to tip off Ms Haley that I was not paying attention to her. She continued to talk, and walk behind me, without my noticing. She saw what I was doing and slammed me in the back of the head with the book she had been reading/carrying, and screamed, "do you think your dad would approve?"

She knew I went home for lunch daily and that my dad would be there and that he would likely kick my ass for it. She told me to bring it home and have him sign it. While I was walking home she called my house so my parents both met me at the door with a "have something to show us?"

They looked at and shrugged it off as I had also received some mail from the Red Guard in China on the same day, so this was much more important. I think she was pissed when I returned to school with a smile.
