Actually, if you compare the price of things in relation to how much money people made, things are cheaper today. Sure things sound cheap back then but people also made much, much less. I won't argue the unemployment, we need to start making things over here. Things are MADE cheaper these days... no one uses real sugar in soft drinks anymore, they use high fructose corn syrup, more things are made of plastic instead of wood/metals, cheap labor from overseas importing cheap goods.
