hardly. you have an extreme disconnect to people who actually are doing things in the name of social justice. pitt has done a hell of alot for people in louisiana, spending millions in his own money for the cause.
people there see him "putting his money where is mouth is" and he is highly regarded for doing so.

So? Bono does his "bit" and has pull but he's still an uneducated prick who chestbeats about whatever he believes in whether he is right or wrong. It seems to me that Brad Pitt is exactly the same. I see nothing that says his opinion is any more educated than the next person.

does his opinion need to be more educated than the next person?
this is not rocket science.
read the news.
get informed.
bp caused a major environmental disaster through criminal negligence.
this is a fact.

he's making a valid point based upon what he and millions of other people now know.

end of story.

No, he is following what hes been told by the american media, like most americans here. I find it hard to believe how demonized BP have been over this, especially when so many american companies were deeply involved in causing this ecological disaster.

I'm also (not too) suprised at how two-faced you americans have been over this, just count how many oil spills have happening over the last few years that involve american oil companies that havent caused an outcry. BTW there are some HUGE spills in africa that havent been fixed for years but i dont suppose that matters?

People tend to get up in arms when shit hits the fan in their own back yard. It's not exactly an American-only trait. Do you honestly believe that the British would react any differently if the roles were reversed?

Furthermore, it's absurd to assert, in any way, that BP is being demonized because they are foreigners. Most Americans really don't give a rats ass. Thanks for the Beatles, though. :thumbsup
