the cats who are serious like tony299, net horse, carlos the gaucho, dlxphil, the demon, don't start threads like this, they just get busy and stay busy.

Bulking up from what, 130lbs.?

Nope, just 10% above maintenance. I like to do things slowly, and steadilly. I weight 185 pound-ish.

LMFAO.

You can lose weight with mainly diet and 3+ days of cardio and some lifting. You can get big with a solid diet and lifting heavy. You can get ripped with big muscles with a great diet, a lot of lifting and a good amount of cardio. If you want to look like a pro bodybuilder, add steroids to the mix.

Either way, if your diet isn't in order, you won't see very good results no matter what you do in the gym. You also need 8 hours of sleep every night.

I eat fairly well, lift 5+ times a week and do cardio (high intensity interval training) 2-3 times per week.

BVF 08-26-2010 11:59 AM

I workout five times a week...M,W,F I do weights and cardio afterwards....Tue,Th I do cardio and then Pilates afterwards. I mostly rest on saturdays and sundays with an "executive workout" which entails shower/jacuzzi/sauna/steamroom/shower.

TDF 08-26-2010 12:02 PM

5 days a week...yoga once a week

seeandsee 08-26-2010 12:07 PM

3 times a week plus some sport on weekends if you want to stay in some kind of good shape

kristin 08-26-2010 12:07 PM

Five times/week.

Mix of cardio and lifting.

fuzebox 08-26-2010 02:36 PM

I hate the gym and lifting weights. I maintain with yoga...

Adam_M 08-26-2010 03:38 PM

Also don't like Gym, work out doing other stuff 5 times a week

kristin 08-26-2010 03:50 PM

50 Workouts.

AmeliaG 08-26-2010 03:52 PM

I've been sort of hiking for like six days a week lately. My body fat % has been decreasing without any change in diet. I eat pretty healthy, for the most part, anyway.

gmr324 08-26-2010 03:53 PM

I think you have to actually enjoy the activity you're doing or boredom sets in quickly and you dread doing it. Jogging can get really old after a while. It's especially hard to get motivated in the really hot and cold weather.

No idea how accurate this is, but I read a thing recently which said that stress raises cortisol in your system. So, if you do exercise you really hate, it can actually be counter-productive.

TeenSluts 08-26-2010 06:44 PM

femdomdestiny 08-26-2010 06:53 PM

Trying to do pushups every day at home. I can't watch idiots in gym. Also my goal is to never stop eating what I want and still be in good shape.

I'm on a seafood diet. I see food and I eat it. That joke used to bring the house down when I was in 3rd grade. Lol.

Rochard 08-27-2010 07:08 AM

I run daily but it's not nearly enough.

v4 media 08-27-2010 08:00 AM

I hate the gym, but I do walk or cycle everywhere, and swim pretty much everyday for 1/2 hour.

I don't seperate my cardio days, I do 15 minutes before to get my heart rate up and alittle calorie burn. Then after I do 5-10 swimming laps. I wonder if having cardio days makes a big differance?

I'm at 5-7 to seven but I would love to get down to 5 and do yoga, sounds like the perfect balance.

At first it's like that, you notice everyone looking and the cheese balls. But after a couple workouts you drown everyone out and just focus on the workout. Also I suggest perfect push ups and perfect pull ups for home workouts, if I could fit them both in my suit case i would take them everywhere.

I'm not going to the gym but do some exercises at home to stay in shape :)

TrixieRacer 08-28-2010 11:41 PM

Generally I go 5-6 days per week and this is how I determine the time:

When I am trying to lose weight quick, I do 3 hours at the gym (cardio/weights/sauna).
If I am trying to gradually lose, I do 1.5 hours (cardio/weights).
If I look how I want, I only do 30-45min (weights only).

Wow awesome, I will have to write that down. The answer is always so easy once you read it.

CarlosTheGaucho 09-02-2010 06:59 AM

Two to three times a week with weights is enough, the rest is cardio.

bushwacker 09-02-2010 07:11 AM

I do a full body workout twice per week, and for cardio I run in the beach sand 3x a week.
I'm jacked!! :pimp

Robbie 09-02-2010 07:56 AM

I go 4 times a week.
Monday: Legs
Tuesday: Chest
Wed: off
Thursday: Back
Friday: Shoulders
Sat. and Sunday: off

Keeps me in excellent shape. I've never really done much cardio because I have a very high metabolism and it makes me too skinny. But adding in 30 minutes on each of my workout days would be the way to go with your cardio.

Naechy 09-02-2010 08:45 AM

it depend, season by season

It does for me... My cardio days are approximately an hour long. However, I like to mix it with some cross training. Running for a solid hour can bore the shit out of me.

Running for 15 minutes can bore me. I always forget to bring my headphones. it also doesn't help the tv's at my gym are in Spanish lol

messiah1 09-04-2010 06:11 PM

My house is my gym but I hardly ever workout anymore.
I do plan on getting down to %5 body fat (about 20% right now) by next summer though.

jackknoff 09-04-2010 08:39 PM

if you're trying to bulk up, you need to be in the gym 4 - 5 days a week, for long stints and eat properly... Been there done that... Then I met my wife, now i'm an oaf...

Spanx!

Pretty often, but exercise is only 50% of looking fit and getting into shape. Diet and proper nutrition is also significantly important.

Damn, 5%

I'm around 15% and am looking pretty skinny. Maybe 12% and bulk up a little in muscle for me.

Robbie 09-05-2010 06:20 PM

Somehow I seem to have gotten my cock down to 0% body fat! :1orglaugh
Damn thing looks like a pencil...that has been sharpened too many times...
