The government is doing it for your own good though (wink and nod)

I'm kind of appalled that there is anyone who thinks this is okay.
With a warrant, given for probable cause, I am all in favor of my local PD having the best technology in existence. Without a warrant and for no particular reason, actually, yes, I do think I have reasonable expectation of privacy. Irritates me when people take photos or video of me when my car is moving on Hollywood Blvd. |

this shit was being put in place since reagan... george sr ran the cia and when he was vp the wheels were put in motion because regan let him do whatever he wanted to on that end... 911 set in motion a chain of events that will continue to strip americans of their privacy until the end of man... so, dont be an idiot and jump on the it's all obamas fault train.. . |
Good concerns! Let's get the ACLU on this! But I bet you righty fear mongering motherfuckers hate the ACLU because FAUX News and your King Rush Limbaugh tells you to dontcha?

Any privacy people still think they have in 2010 is just an illusion. Privacy has been gone for years.

Actually, I'll just live happily every after, anonymously in Thailand. Suits me just fine. :thumbsup |
I'll bet if I needed to care about such a thing, I could buy a device that would tell me if there was a tracking device on my car. It won't matter soon anyhow - they will have little drone planes that can track anyone. Cheaper to operate than helicopters and they take less gas.

Who watches over this power? Who will watch over it in 10 years? Whoever watches over this power who do they answer too? Who will be able to use it next? Never let unneeded laws advanced just because you are "innocent". Innocent people have never been found guilty have they? |
oh no's! the gov't is going to know where I'm driving to!!! :1orglaugh:1orglaugh
they don't need to do this, they can already figure this out by looking at credit/debit card transaction statements, as well when you pay tolls on roads, airline tickets, etc. What are you so worried about them finding out? If your that concerned, then your doing something shaddy :2 cents: |

This is why Big Brother are so scary. Obama doesn't have a clue what they get up to, and what technology they use. YOU ARE GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT Have no doubt. Your state lawyer, judge, the police prosecutor and the even the court reporter are all work mates. They work in the same courtroom every day for 10 years. YOU are the new guy. You think the judge will side with YOU or the policeman? Think of it this way. Should you lock away people who might be dangerous but you have no evidence, or let them free? THEY LOCK YOU UP ON SUSPICION. All it takes is someone to lay charges and the police do the rest. I'm not saying it's wrong, if you're 90% sure someone is a mass murderer it's probably best to lock them away, but don't live in ignorance that being innocent is your keep safe. And corporal punishment is in wide use. |
yup, that might be reasonable
|
This isn't a technology piece. Do you understand that sentence? Technology has existed for a long time that makes it POSSIBLE for you to be watched and followed.
This is a legal, government, and privacy piece. Just because they CAN do it, doesn't mean they've had the right to do it before, without a warrant. Some of you people are just so stupid, it's no wonder we're in this shape. You worry more about whether some homosexual is going to be allowed to get married, more than the eroding of your rights. Sad. |

Tell you what, why dont you let me install cameras in your home, I mean if you arent doing anything shady you shouldnt have a problem with it. Otherwise I think we could arrest you for refusing since you obviously are doing something illegal. |
you have no reasonable expectation of privacy in your driveway.
and owning a car is not a "right". |

I am realist and can see how surveillance might be needed, however I wish for it to be done in a legitimate way in a set rule of procedures and with justification for use of such invasions. This sort of advancement leads a country down only one road. |

Normally I could care less. I have no fear of my privacy being invaded; I have nothing to hide. They can track me through my cell phone, and if not, they can gladly put a gps tracking device in my car. Whatever.
But sneaking up onto someone's property in the middle of the night, putting a tracking device on a car, and without a warrant? Whoa. Something's not right with that. |
