Many of the ex felons rights were restored back when Obama was being elected. (Almost all non violent offenders)
Thus was needed for many minority votes to win the pre-planned election.

So the Brady bill is now just a wash.

AaromM you sound so much like cop its not even funny. Find out more facts before you make an attempt to speak of facts.

I must apologize to Fris for hijacking his thread I hope you get the answers you need dude, here in Michigan its pretty laid back purchasing firearms, since you are close in Canada there you probably could get what you wanted if you went to a private show here without too much trouble. Hell most of the people there would help you get what you needed.

GotGauge 08-29-2010 11:15 AM

Cambaby,
Do you have a FFL?
What State, City, Store did you do this in? Easy to call them!

Why would I have an FFL? I am a private citizen. :1orglaugh

LOL

Most cops, just like most GFY'ers, don't know shit about gun laws. They just think they do.

So private citizens can't have an FFL?

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

From your link:

"A Federal Firearms License, (FFL), is a license that enables an individual...."

So, what's wrong with him asking you if you have an FFL? I mean, other than the fact that if you had one you would not have gone to Gander Mountain since you could have ordered direct from the distributor.

Seriously you guys...The ignorance in this thread is unbelievable.

A private citizen doesnt "NEED" an FFL. As much as you would like to think you are some kind of "gun god" your "federal laws" even allow private purchases (and in this case a shotgun) with NO DOCUMENTATION period. :1orglaugh

He would need a possession and acquisition license in Canada in order to get it across the border. Up here you have to take a stupid course before you can purchase or even legally own guns. Then if you want handguns (or other guns that are considered restricted) you have to take yet another course, and register as a member of a gun club.

Depends on which video you are referring to.

The last video was basically an M-16 with a short barrel and a suppressor. That takes 3 different tax stamps which each have background checks. You can read a Little about NFA items here.

I've seen some NFA things come back in about 2 months and others up to 6.

But can you buy an m-16 without any permits first?

or do you need all those before they will sell you them

I went into a gun store with Valid ID, filled out a Back Ground investigation form. They called the info in, and in 15 minutes of the approval, I was paying for my AR-15, and walking out with it.
Now buying it at a gun store it is Registered in my name now. So I did have to show ID and a quick back ground check!

Hope that helps!

What type of Gun? Handgun, Rifle, shotgun?

Gun Shows you can get weapons the same day, I believe they still do call for a Back Ground Check, but not 100% sure on that.

Gun stores, you can get Rifles or Shotguns the with a simple form they call in and do a quick back ground check on you. You only need to be 18.

Walmart here sells Rifles and Shotguns, again with a quick form and a phone call if approved, it takes about 10 minutes.

Handguns, I am not sure on, except you must be 21. Last time I purchased one there was a 3 or 5 day wait.

All my answers are based from Kansas.

Well almost correct. There is no waiting period as such in Kansas. Long Guns; rifles and shotguns may be purchased by persons over 18 anad not otherwise prohibited.

Guns like Mossberg Cruisers; shotguns without shoulder stocks are considered to be "firearms" rather than long guns and are restricted by federal law to persons 21 and older.

Handguns may only be purchased by persons 21 and older.

All firearms purchasers must fill out From 4473 and pass the NICS background check. If the instant check fails, there is a five business day wait while the NICS system fumbles around with things but when you are cleared, they call the dealer, otherwise if nothing is heard from them, at the end of the five business day person, you may pick up for firearm without further delay.

There is no restriction on ammunition other than certain types of armor piercing.

Kansas is also an NFA state.

Sally.

GotGauge 08-29-2010 01:40 PM

Sally, yes I was speaking for my state only, sorry for the confusion!

potter 08-29-2010 01:42 PM

Short Answer: Varies on the state.

WTF is your problem? The man asked IF you had an FFL. NOBODY said you needed an FFL.

YOU said YOU purchased the shotgun from Gander Mountain. That means it was NOT a private purchase and a form 4473 is REQUIRED by FEDERAL law.

Permit? An M-16 is an NFA weapon and requires a Federal tax stamp, not a permit.

Bring your checkbook as they run from about 11k to 20k.

DAMNMAN 08-29-2010 07:04 PM

I'm gonna get all crazy up in here with the reasons some citizens of the US have guns.

Because we can.
Because the government can't protect you, you have right right to protect yourself. Gov can only clean up your remains after you've been killed.
Governments get out of control and sometimes the need to be reconfigured. (Even ours)

A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free
State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be
infringed.

According to the 2nd amentment (above) they shouldn't be able to ask any questions or make you sign papers to get a gun. NOTHING!!! the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. These are serious words and the meaning is unmistakable and doesn't need any interpretation.

It ain't about duck hunting it's about freedom from TYRANNY!!!!

BTW dipshit....

From the ATF, BATF, BATFE...Whatever....MI Firearms Laws:

http://www.atf.gov/publications/down...5-michigan.pdf

"3.111. Rifles and shotguns; purchases by residents. Residents of this state may purchase rifles and shotguns in any state contiguous thereto if they conform to the federal gun control act of 1968 and the regulations issued thereunder, as administered by the secretary of the treasury and the laws of the state where the purchase is made."

From Gander Mountain's website:

"Gander Mountain follows all Federal, State, and local laws concerning the transfer of all firearms."

http://www.gandermountain.com/gunsmi...rchasing.shtml

Now lets go back to your claim of buying a shotgun "over the counter" at Gander Mountain...

Page 3 under Notices and Instructions. Right hand column:

"Over-the-Counter Transaction: The sale or other disposition of a firearm by a seller to a buyer, at the seller's licensed premises."

http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-4473.pdf

Then skip down to page 6, right column, second paragraph:

"Types of firearms include: pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun..."

Based on what you have posted, it's obvious that you're a fucking liar. Gander Mountain is not about to lose their FFL by selling you a shotgun without a form 4473 which is chock FULL of questions that you claim you never had to answer.

Go Fuck Yourself. :321GFY

LOL, I own a couple 69 caliber flint lock horse pistols, trust me, you would rather be shot by a .223 coming out of an AR-15 that get the fire blast and powder burn of a up and close flint lock, the blunt force of a 69 caliber lead ball is insane.

So if you're against guns, figure out a way to legally get guns from those that don't follow the law

And as for a regular citizen getting an FFL, I had one for a couple years about 15 years ago, just fill out the forms and they do a back ground check, then you keep records of what you sell and buy. I let it lapse. The laws are tighter now to get them, but I still know people that have them with no brick and mortar store.

Only way is if the president himself gives you a pardon. Some states can give a felon his rights back, but the Federal Government over rules that.

Guerrilla warfare works, hate to break it to you. Do you realize that the Talibans weapons come from their enemies? They take them after they kill them. Its easier than you think, Ive seen it with my own eyes.
