I know exactly how easy it is to purchase a gun in most areas. That's no the point. You claimed you purchased it from a store without questions which is an outright lie. Then you tried manipulating the conversation to private purchases in order to misguide and confuse others. You're a liar and that's all there is to it. You should probably just STFU before you lose even more credibility. :2 cents: |

You are suggesting that Obama himself changed the law, prior to becoming President, so that felons could vote him into office? How exactly did he change the law? And where was the "get out the felon vote" campaign? |

I wish i could filter this thread into two sections
People that actually have bought and own a gun vs People that think they know what they are talking about and reference "my cousin bought one in 3 minutes at 7-11" (ignored) |
My favourite gun misconception: Canadians can't own assault rifles. This is false. It is certainly much harder to go about it here then it would be in the United States, but I can own an AR15 if I so desire.
The best part is how Canadians are so oblivious about their own gun laws. Then they go around proclaiming that Canadians can't own anything but shotguns or hunting rifles, completely disregarding the fact that I could very well have a 1911, an AR15, a shotgun and an M1 Carbine. All legally. |

Americans won't even get together to protest. Getting together into an organized militia in any effectual numbers is so far beyond that. |
As for the firearms course in Canada, a friend of mine took it on a Saturday this summer. It was a 9am-3pm schoolday thing offered by a gun shop and it was hardly difficult. Don't point a loaded gun at anyone, always assume a gun is loaded until you check, etc.

Base upon the sate you reside in as well as where you wish to buy the firearm. You may also have limits as to how many you can buy within a given period. Muzzle loaders have the least hoops to jump through and again varies state by state. Handguns and the most restrictions other than fully automatic weapons, short barreled rifles and shotguns and of course silencers. Walmart is limiting their firearms and ammo sales in many markets. Gone from all of my close by Florida stores and with my Florida CCW I can not buy any firearms in TN where Walmart does still carry guns (at VERY LOW PRICES) although I was open carrying a sidearm today in NC. I can't do that in Florida. |

At gunshows here in the NW US you can buy just about any weapon you can imagine. Just have cash. No background check or waiting period. I see everything from .50 cal sniper rifles to ripsaw shells, to flashbangs.

As I am sure many have said, but dont feel like reading through all the posts. It depends on the state/county you live in. Here in NYC you can't have a gun without permit and its not the easiest thing to get.
I know in Florida when i lived there you can walk into the Bass Pro shop and buy a 9mm or whatever. They have them in the newspaper ads. You just need to wait a couple of days for them to do a criminal background check on you. In Florida if you want to carry it around. There is a 3 hour course for concealed weapons permit. Then you can just carry it on your waste band like its a blackberry. Not sure how the other states are, but I know guns are regulated on a state by state basis. Of course the constitution says every man has the right to have a gun. But hey, its only the constitution. |
I live in Washington, I bought my gun off www.gunbroker.com from a store in North Carolina. I had them ship it to a dealer in my town that had a FFL. I think I waited 7 days after he got it then I was able to get it from him. Got it in Nov/Dec I think. I still have yet to fire it. Theres a nice indoor range 15 mins from my house too.
