he had full access to any database which he manipulated. The overall turnover was really big, and we paid 99% to most of the webmasters for a really long time. So he used the situation, carefully monitoring when webmasters didn't withdraw all their revenue, he did it thru his artificial accounts. Also he tried his best to convince me that everything is ok, when i started noticing.

But yes, that's my main fault. how the fuck it went unnoticed. shiiiit.

We've been through something like this and I fully sympathize... sigh. It's a question of being so used to trusting the people you working with that someone takes advantage of that, then just reams you when you're not looking...

Had a secretary at my office pump me for 85K in a month, no joke. This is in my professional business though.

She was signing herself cash checks, double payroll checks, etc. She did it the only month she could have, in August, while everyone was on vacation and the office shift was extremely light.

When she was arrested, she told me she had done this at many different other companies, but they always cheated on their books and never reported her because they were afraid of getting audited.

She could have done alot more damage, but thankfully we asked our main accountant to come back to do our end of year reconciliation and thats when she was found. She was sentenced to like 1 month at Rikers and restitution and now every month or so I get a check in the mail for like 350 bucks. Its going to take her a looooooooong time to pay that off, my kids will be getting those in the mail.



Anyway, sucks and sorry to hear. Get to writing that code

The girl who ran that site isn't an aquaintence of mine but is a friend of a friend. I caught up with him a few months ago when he moved back to FL and he told me about how she got thrashed in a similar fashion- site hacked, accounts drained, etc.

One of those stories that makes you realize how souless people can be. :disgust

among all companies that died in last few years PT is the stupidest case.

what could be more stupid is if somebody would send you $10k worth of traffic to get back $500 you already owe him. ..you don't even have a script.

also situation is different now, percent of traffic that get sold nowdays running to zero. it went to a circle jerk scheme for webmasters. they trying to make money out of each other. same traffic get bought just to be sold on the next click over and over again driving it cost from $3 to $30 when in fact it worth $0.
