that sucks. My own problems look rather insignificant to that amount.
Hope you get your money back...

AdultEUhost 09-03-2010 03:39 PM

i had to laugh when i grabbed my calc and did the math on how many times you would need to go to the ATM with a $1000 limit a day in case they shutdown wires

i feel for you though, good luck !

Why did you need calc? 249,000.00 = 249 days

30 x 8 = 240, so it's around 8 moths and 9 day's

or the more complicated $9.110.000 through $1000 per transaction???
it just keeps getting better here, wow!!! :thumbsup

It's the 21st century...people have no brain capacity to do simple math. Can't do math, spell, or remember phone numbers...that's what calculators, spell checkers and cell phones are for. Tragic I know. :(

https://www.sknanb.com/ [St. Kitts-Nevis Anguilla National Bank Ltd website]

On 15 February 1971, St. Kitts-Nevis Anguilla National Bank Ltd., (National Bank), was issued a certificate of incorporation. On that historic date only two other countries in the English speaking Caribbean had indigenous full service commercial banks. Those countries were Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago. The twin island federation of St. Kitts and Nevis was the third territory in the region to establish an indigenous full service commercial bank. By 1977 National Bank had become the largest bank in St. Kitts-Nevis with respect to total deposits, total loans and advances, total assets, total income, and net profit.

Today National Bank is the largest banking institution, whether indigenous or foreign, in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, with regard to the principal financial indicators stated above. This remarkable accomplishment was achieved by the foresight and forward planning of Directors, the commitment and competence of Staff, the favor of Customers, and the trust of shareholders. The solid foundation laid in the beginning and the strong superstructure built thereon, make National Bank institutionally safe, financially sound, and operationally profitable. National Bank has not just survived; National Bank is an unqualified success. The future of National Bank is secure.

National Bank provides top quality service to the national and international communities, and makes sterling contributions to nation building. The Bank is committed to the diligent pursuit of its twin objectives of expanding its customer base and increasing its market share. National Bank adheres to its social engagement to be a responsible and exemplary corporate citizen. National Bank will not leave anything to chance, not take anything for granted, as it strives to maintain its position as the foremost sub-regional banking institution.

Please be advised that, at 12:00 PM PDT today, September 2, 2010, we were notified that effective immediately, Visa International has suspended our banking partner?s (St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank) ePassporte Visa program. The ePassporte e-Wallet program continues to be up and running, except funds cannot be transferred between your Visa Account and your e-Wallet. At this time ePassporte can no longer issue Visa Cards, and the ability for our Account Holders to make point of sale purchases and withdraw funds from ATMs has also been suspended.

I PHONE VISA international .. I speak with a level 1 agent, he told me NO NUMBER HAVE BEEN CUT OFF FROM THEIR SIDE .. It's St.Kitts Nevis Anguilla Bank who stop processing visa for epassport. Visa International have NEVER SUSPENDED Kitts Nevis Anguilla Bank .. do you knwo how big this bank is ? pretty big .. beleive me !!!!

that's clear.... now, WHY did they suspend it (i'm assuming this is being kept quite for a reason) and what's the possibility and timeframe of gaining access to funds? i think those answers would pretty much kill all these threads.

My very first post here yeah!

Bomber, this was what I was thinking first "good most of my money was in my wallet". The $100 question, will anybody be able to actually wire out or transfert to US bank to get some money out? I sent a wire request today, I bet you that next week they will start telling me it wasn't handled yet because they are getting to many requests. Of course the real reason will be that ALL of their money probably got locked.

I really hope I'm wrong, if anybody was able to wire out or send to US bank successfully from wallet since Sept 3rd please post here!

No matter if Visa or a bank is in cause here, they certainly knew this would cause Epass to lose 90% of its biz overnight. I would really like to know what Epassporte did to deserve this, they were certainly warned many times about "something bad" the were doing. Now how could I continue to trust them? If this official release is really true, they will have to sue for a couple of millions.

Our money is protected in bank by insurance. While there are limits PER PERSON PER BANK, there are an unlimited amount of banks to work with.

well obviously trying to cheat the system didn't turn out too good for him. Try to save 28% and lose 100%, not good.

YOu 100% sure it was his own money...

Wouldn't be some shit if the money (or some of it) was used to fund that damn movie and now that the movie is a bust there is no money coming back to replace the money??? i know its far fetched but wouldn't that be some shit, movie made about the industry paid for by almost everyone in the industry. Would suck if that was true.

Hope it works out for everyone!!! The timing is right at least. Coincidence i guess ?

US govt backs up to 300K in banks per person per account. US banks are not on the verge of bankruptcy. Of the tens of thousands of banks, I believe 100 smaller banks went out business last year and they were picked up by other banks.

You have no clue what you are talking about. I wouldn't put over 300K in the same bank, but 300K or less in the same account is 100% FINE in the US. If by some long shot something happens to the bank, the money is insured.

Nicky 09-03-2010 08:43 PM

I hate this. Although I was smart enough to withdraw from my epass account very often. Very seldom let over 1k be there. I very much hope they fix this though cause It's a very good way for me to get paid.

What's a Tom-Tom?

lagcam 09-03-2010 09:27 PM

Well with stories like this coming out now, I for one am not in the slightest bit surprised that Visa or the visa issuing bank stepped in here.

People walking around with $250k + on a virtual visa card?

I can understand sponsors having that much in the wallet pending a payout, but on the virtual visa?

Epassporte should have imposed limits of how much could be held.
