I still don't quite understand why people believe VISA is holding the funds. VISA can't hold the funds. They're a gateway, not a bank. They don't have any funds in their possession to hold. I guess they could go the legal route, and get a court order to freeze funds in a certain bank account, but that's unlikely.

what bothers me the most is that my wire transfer has been approved on Sept 3rd and no signs of any wire sent so far (they told me the process takes 7-10 business days). there has been just 5 business days so far, but if nothing happens till next friday, i'm sure we need to check out any other options.

did anyone get their wire transfer so far (debit/credit card withdrawal and ach aside)?

Are you currently working jointly with St. Kitts to verify VV account balances or has this process not been started yet?

Is it your business?? do you own shares in it??

If that is the attitiude then you will never see your money.. The last thing they want is a herd of sheep running to cashpoints to remove everything they have in their accounts.. The interest they earn on the overall balance probably pays allot of peoples wages.

New member here, I am involved in webhosting thus a lot of clients pay me via epass. Seeing as I am not in the USA, this is very effective.

Something I noticed, is that on September 9th they changed hosting providers for epassporte.com. I wonder why that would be? Moving their website mid crisis... If it wasn't urgent, I dare say it would have been pushed back until things are resolved etc.

disappointing news.Nothing worse than an answer that doesnt give you definite answer. I dont even need a good one - "sorry you money is lost" would be better so we can get a proper closure and move on.

btw, this statement has just appeared in our epassporte admin as a new message.

oh and yes, jsut logged in and I am also hit with this "Account Alert!" message although I didn't even request anything yet...

maybe thats the reason they wanted to wait untill the merge was done?

lagcam 09-09-2010 08:28 PM

Did anybody mention yet that the announcement was signed off by Chris Mallick FOR Epassporte rather than as Owner of epassporte?

I don't know if we can read anything into that.....especially in light of lol_cat's post above....

As regards the general tone of that release, it read to me as though people (who could prove their ID I guess) would be paid out (eventually), that the present system was finished, but they would soon announce an alternative ("better") one that would "satisfy" us all. Anybody also think that?

Michael,

this is by no means directed towards you.

But this bullshit statement is a bitchslap for all epassporte users and is causing a major drop in trust. My trust in Epassporte just hit rock bottom. Coming up with such a lousy statement hacked together within 10 minutes without a message after a week is pure bullshit.

I had high hopes all through the week, even if the situation cause me real big troubles and I am by far not yet out of it. This message of Mallick is much worse than saying nothing at all. Fuck.

good catch but it might be their server couldn't handle the traffic .I am sure eppasporte gets tons of traffic now, not only from forums but also from big media sites etc...

Shap 09-09-2010 08:43 PM

That chris malick for epass is a good catch and really odd

Shap 09-09-2010 08:46 PM

As is changing hosts mid crisis.
Looks like he's distancing himself and old host from situation.

Sounds just like what iBill said too...of course it was all bullshit. :disgust

If it was a compliance issue with ePassporte, then the blame clearly belongs upon Mallick and his company - they didn't do everything which they could do to protect their customers.

It's possible that Mallick was too busy trying to be Chris the Producer/King of an ego-fueled movie that bombed, instead of Chris the CEO overseeing the proper management and operations of ePassporte.

This Bud is for you Chris "Good To Be King" Mallick:

Based on what I'm seeing, ePassporte has not moved hosting nor changed IP ranges for quite some time.

The Sept-9th date is the date Netcraft last queried the site - it's not the date the server / IP changed. It appears ePassporte been with the current host / in same IP range for about a year.

All we need is just a little......

We all expect "the others" NEVER to fail...but we are EXTREMELLY "understanding" when it is US that we fail.....

The situation is indeed "d?licat?" for the people & businesses who relied a lot or mainly on ePassporte for sending or RECEIVING money....BUT:

Chris & ePassporte did a FANTASTICALLY good job helping to move MILLIONS in the Adult Affiliate Industry...

WHERE would we be today without Chris & ePassporte?????

They were great...they DID IT so many times...they will do it AGAIN!

yea, you are right, I jumped to conclusions too quickly, someone probably went to netcraft today and queried epassporte.com and that's why it was updated today...

Hey US webmasters, who lives near epass office, maybe time to go to police and make a STATEMENT to the police about the theft of money by epass?

That someone is me. I've been monitoring their hosting since the crisis began. That is no joke either. I simply re-queried using netcraft in order to display it to people.

They changed on the 8th/9th of September.

and what did they tell you? Yes Sir, we are already on the case & we have a warrant for Mr. Christopher Mallick, he is now hiding & a fugitive.

We think he is probably hiding in the mountains in Pakistan. We traced is steps from bank statement record purchases. Last purchase was made with an Epassporte Visa, he bought a Kebab & sugar cane juice in a local hotel in Islamabad. Interpol is now looking for Mr. Mallick.

it is a civil matter, they would not even take a report

lol_cat 09-09-2010 10:20 PM

Maybe a way for us to work out roughly how many wires they're dealing with is if we post up our ticket/document ID numbers? That way we'd know if we're looking at 1000s or 10s of thousands. Might be helpful.

My reference number is: Reference No: 2227xx

Which was received on Sep 7th, submitted on the 4th.

Michael, strictly from a PR standpoint. If you have no news to share, you would have been better off saying something like:

We are working day and night to solve the problem. The reason we aren't posting detailed messages on GFY is that we know people here will parse each sentence looking for hidden meanings or make up false meanings for anything that we communicate - so it really is not helpful for us to give you partial details of the news when we are hopeful that we will actually have complete news available for you soon.

Our primary job is getting your money available for you to use as quickly as possible - so we are allocating all of our time and effort to the task of tracking down every possible method of completing that mission as quickly as possible, rather than taking the enormous amount of time needed to draft pretty memos that mean nothing while your money remains in limbo. We are aware that any message other than 'your funds are now available' is not going to be sufficient to keep our clients happy. Let us get you your money back NOW and we will be glad to talk all about what happened and how we solved it after that important work is completed. Your money is safe, our company is rock solid and as soon as we are able to announce that your funds are available we will be glad to do so.

Saying news will be available tomorrow really created a spotlight that could only backfire...

All Michael is doing is posting what he is being told. They told him there would be an announcement and they sent him the crap that was posted. All he did was post it. Michael is not in a position to do anything other than what they are instructing him to do.
