Good news?? More like no news at all!!

No updates about what exactly happened, why this happened, what is beeing done, and no schedule about when it will be solved.

:(

webgurl 09-09-2010 12:28 PM

Interesting , hmmmmmm the sega continues .
As far as I am concerned , Epass is still the number 1 option for methd of payment in our industry right now and caters to us very well .
Really hope things get back on track soon <sigh>

st0ned 09-09-2010 12:29 PM

Since we have no new news, see sig. :winkwink:

thats what it sounds like. we will be paid what we have in our accounts but the current visa/epass scenario is likely kaput.

what epass does after all of this is a good question, but the big issue of at least getting our funds back looks good.

That's what I'm thinking.. sounds like the virtual card is done with.

I want the card to work as before. Ok, yes I want my money, but fuck.. just get the cards working like before is more important to me.

icymelon 09-09-2010 12:30 PM

not sure I understand what the difference is between the funds being available for virtual visa or transfer to wallet. My guess is it has to do with a certain cash reserve and the funds moving out of epass into individual bank accounts.

on the other hand a lot of webmasters that are not in the us couldn't move the money from the wallet to their bank so cash reserve would be meet.

I think a critical first step is making the money locked in virtual visa available to move to wallet so at least hosting bills and other venders can get paid.

Michael O: I really think you owe us an update about the status of outgoing wires! I see nobody on GFY posting that any wire has successfully gone out... all i see is people waiting

Barry-xlovecam 09-09-2010 12:32 PM

A good faith gesture

For ePassporte

That is good to know.

Since the funds are safe, transfer 50% of them to an account from which we can wire transfer out 50% of that.

That is 25% of the funds that are "status unknown" but claimed as secure.

A good faith gesture would go a long way in keeping epassporte's credibility.

Also, the tone of this seems to be a lot more subdued -- no mention of getting back to business as usual even as a goal. I read it as 'we will eventually get the money disbursed on a one time basis' , but nothing about carrying on in future with VISA functions.

:2 cents:

yeah the money is extremelly important, but epassporte's visa features are extremelly important for a huge part of us.

and wtf.. i was expecting at least to hear the cause of the suspension.

Chicks Delivery 09-09-2010 12:34 PM

Good news....... I hope...........

chronig 09-09-2010 12:34 PM

The money is gone, plain and simple. Deal with it. All this speculation and false hope is just going to hurt you in the long run. :disgust

In the faint chance you do get it back, consider it a miracle. Until then, stop hoping, you're just going to fuck yourself over even more than you already are.

Matyko 09-09-2010 12:34 PM

a friend of mine who i discuss this with atm just did a funny translation of the statement:
"The details are complicated" = we don't know what is happening
"funds in motion" = we are trying to withdraw what we can and run as fast as possible
"ePassporte's most important asset has always been our account holder's" = thanks you for your money
"We are not going to undermine that asset by treating cardholders in any manner other than the best we can" = we need you to believe everything is safe so we will have time to steal your money
"Most of us have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with banks and card associations that simply “cut us off” and did not pay us" = everybody is nowadays ripping off ... so you should be prepared for this
"it does not help any of us if we are constantly updating you on the basis of the calls that take place almost hourly" = STOP FUCKING CALLING US IDIOTS

I don't say this is true 100% but at least its funny as hell :D

Rui 09-09-2010 12:35 PM

Thanks a lot.

Already feel not only more calm, but reassured my money and the service is safe!

Now I can finally get some decent sleep and not have to worry about this whole thing and the impact in mid/long term in the industry.

So once again thank you for the enlightened and informing PR statement!

chronig 09-09-2010 12:36 PM

Michael O: Man, we need to tell them something... they're really going crazy over there on GFY and elsewhere... I think holding this back any longer will just make things worse
Chris Mallick: Well there's nothing to say, the money's gone, and we can't tell them that, come up with something
Michael O: Something like what?!
Chris Mallick: I don't know, some sort of speculative bullshit, tell them the money is safe, but we have no exact answers on the situation as of it
Michael O: Sigh... ok...

BetChips 09-09-2010 12:36 PM

Michael, come on man, I sent an email to you when this first popped off about how important my epassporte funds are to me right now. There has to be a better explanation as to where our funds are at and what solution there is to get my money and when? Please help

Michael O 09-09-2010 12:36 PM

We have received a high number of wire disbursement requests and we must manually review each one at this time. Please bear with us while we work through this
backlog. We will notify you once your wire is sent.

lucPL 09-09-2010 12:36 PM

all funds are frozen thats why no single wire went out

ACH are working because they have other account, in US, with some small funds only to cover few ACH so that funds are propably gone by now.

TheSenator 09-09-2010 12:37 PM

flashfire 09-09-2010 12:37 PM

... and will they ever get access to it. The suggestion that things are delayed because "there are funds in motion" seems a little strange. There are always funds in motion in a banking system and if we have to wait till those funds stop being in motion then we could all be a lot older before we see any of our funds.

For ePassporte

@ Chris.... There has to be some basis though. Whether it's good or not...is that the CM/epass opinion? I'm sure by now, you're received some reason/excuse from the bank as to why it was done. They didn't request Visa to stop it "just because". If you've been in contact with the bank, they have to have told you something by now. Whether it's good basis or not, I'm sure will be judged later.

For the record, I'm not out of any money in this situation. I ask on behalf of the people.

Can you give us any information about what kind of calls you are having, and what kind of agreement you want to achieve?

Thanks you for your understanding in this difficult time and for your support over the last 8 years of our operations.

I really do hope you guys can figure a way to turn the table, and I have supported Epass from day #1. But the lack of answers regarding what is really happening is very disturbing.

Kiopa_Matt 09-09-2010 12:40 PM

The funds are "safe and secure", but ePass is working hard on getting the funds "returned". Huh???

So the VISA cards weren't just "suspended", but instead the funds were seized?
