Well even if they do survive, why?

They are not safe, maybe it took a long time to realize this but it's true.

Please can I?

Not really, but the situation here is different. They were cut off by the bank, probably without being given any notice of that or at least time to comply with whatever they needed to. This problem hit everyone, not only cardholders but ePassporte itself as well. Do you think they would like to hold our money making no money on transactions if they wouldn't have to? In fact the bank is who is holding our money, because the cards are theirs.

I am not defending anyone here, just saying that this situation could've happened to anyone, even your own business where the bank could've frozen your account and won't bother paying any interest or caring whether that's your last money needed for toilet paper.

Let's be real and face it. I've been in constant communication with some of ePass employees and I can say that they really give their best to pay out everyone. If they would've just decided to run do you think they'd bother to do anything?

I am really sorry of this that it had to happen but it did. All we can do right now is try to push the bank to release our funds, and let ePassporte guys do their job paying all the people out.

So they did not follow the banks TOS and/or broke the law and/or have a dangerous business practice that aids and abets terrorists and or criminals in order to get cut off and you think that they are still safe?

We do not know the reason for their suspension, so I wouldn't speculate on that subject. Maybe simply the KYC (Know your customer) wasn't fully enforced (which is really not that big of a problem). Hence, they've started collecting users documents recently. Again, the reason why they were cut off is still not known, and there is no point in discussing that any further.

I would still use them to get my affiliate $ into my hands. I withdraw cash pretty much as soon as anything major lands in the account; generally payments are $300 or less per instance and I keep a running balance of less than $100. I've only "lost" $10 (on my VV) from this issue. Most of my income arrives via wire and has nothing to do with epass.

As far as using it for something more involved that might require handling more $ or having a larger balance - no way.

edit: in case it's not clear, the above is my form of risk management, I was prepared for something bad to happen to epass before it did.

roganoli 09-27-2010 06:15 AM

I use because checks are difficult to cash in Brazil... Sponsors are not concerned to seek alternative...

BlueDude 09-27-2010 06:31 AM

Yes, but only for amount < $500 and will withdraw them immediate if I don't plan to use it within a week.

Agent 488 09-27-2010 06:41 AM

i loved epass but they fucked up bad and are dead. to think that they will be back in any usable form is delusion.

webworking 09-27-2010 08:24 AM

Wrong question in this poll.

Would you ever trust SNKB any $$$? No, I don't think so.

Will you continue using Visa plastic cards? Not sure and doubt it, they started it all.

Epass? No, of course note, they even refuse to refund the fees for the worthless plastic card etc. they sold us a few days ago, and thy still offer to sell Visa plastic cards on their website.

I'm thinking the same thing. ePassporte is a convenient way to receive affiliate income, but can't be trusted with too much money anymore. :2 cents:
