So what you are saying is I can send my traffic elsewhere and get paid for it?

TiaLing 10-01-2010 09:15 PM

This is about the dumbest shit i've heard in a long time.

I just did a google search on my name, Tia Ling, my site came up first ..... and then for the rest of the top 10 ... 6 are tube sites ! I'll tell you what ... you're all welcome to join my program at methodcash with whatever damn domain name you want to knock those tubes out of the box .... geese ! Pay per click too ... anything to get traffic on the first page to my site instead of someone that has nothing to do with my site. I can't figure out the logic here. I'm all for protecting a name, but doing so in this manor you're not helping yourself from what i can see.

can i buy the top position for digital playground sucks and still get paid for my conversions since that is not on your banned list?

Dear Associate,

We?re writing from Amazon.com to remind you about our policy of not permitting Amazon trademarks (including the word AMAZON) to be used in domain names. We sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm for the Amazon brand, but under trademark law, we have a responsibility to watch how others use Amazon?s trademarks. In addition, we want to avoid confusion from customers who see the name and wrongly assume the Web site and its content is sponsored or written by Amazon. By requesting that you use alternate domains, we are attempting to make sure that there is always a clear distinction between the official "Amazon" site and other third party sites. For more information, please review the Associates Program Operating Agreement:

https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...ates/agreement

Please choose new domain names and transfer your content to those names. Amazon will purchase your domains AMAZONS###.COM and AMAZON###.COM for the initial registration prices, provided that you agree to not register any domains containing Amazon brands, or a misspelling of those brands, in the future.

Second, we noticed the domains AMAZON###.COM and AMAZON###.COM are automatically redirecting to Amazon.com. As stated in the Associates Program Operating Agreement, we do not allow Associates to redirect users automatically to our site. Visitors must first click on a link to Amazon.com before being directed to our site. Please update your sites within 72 hours so that they no longer automatically redirect to Amazon.com and notify us once you have done so. We hope you understand that if you continue to use this method to drive traffic to Amazon.com, we will have no alternative but to close your Associates account and withhold advertising fees in accordance with the Agreement.

We value our relationship and appreciate your cooperation and prompt attention to this matter. If you have any questions or wish to discuss the matter, please use the Contact Us form available on Associates Central or by following this link:

https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...ciates/contact

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Gary - Associates Account Specialist

If you ever plan on expanding to mainstream you had better get used to it.

YES it is listed for adwords, but nobody with a clue about SEO will ever push them.

Sure it's brand protection, but it's not protecting shit when you force the hands of google. They have no choice but to fill up the other 9 spots on a page with other sites, and if affiliates can't do it legally, who do you think those other results will be?

Great brand protection.

get this man some rep :2 cents::2 cents::2 cents:

Are you actually giving affiliates the green light to register and use domain names containing DP trademarks?
