There's no way people would trust him with another epass-type business. I know I wouldn't anyways.

they've already stated they'll turn the cards back on Oct 6th. I have no reason to not believe that at this point.

It is still expected that from Wednesday, October 6th, the overwhelming majority of cardholders will be able to access the funds on their Visa Card using their existing virtual card and/or physical card(s), without providing SKNANB further information. A small percentage of cardholders will be asked to provide certain confirming information. SKNANB prepaid cardholders should continue to check this site for further updates.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING YOUR EPASSPORTE ACCOUNT

Dear ePassporte Account Holders,

It is with great regret we inform you that ePassporte must close its doors due to a lack of revenue and circumstances beyond our control.

Effective immediately, the call center, ePassporte's sales and marketing team and risk management staff will no longer be available. A small group will remain to organize wallet requests and help disburse funds. On the ePassporte website, in the near future, wallet holders will be provided further information on what is needed to obtain your funds. This will mainly be a process to protect wallet holder funds from fraud. We expect this will be a simplified process, and as we receive the necessary information, our small remaining staff will process requests as quickly as they can. Please direct your wallet questions, concerns and requests to [email protected].

For those of you with funds on your Visa Accounts, we are informed that St. Kitts Bank is working on a plan to provide everyone with full access to their funds through their Visa Electron Cards or by bank wire transfers and will inform you accordingly.

We appreciate your support for the ePassporte program over the past 7 years and deeply regret we must close our doors at this difficult time.

Sincerely,

ePassporte.com

Still no word from Chris.

If everyone does get paid back their wallet money than kudos to Chris and crew. But we will have to wait to see how many people do get their money back and why some people have been waiting over a month for their wires...

Given the new DOJ clamp down on money transferring and Obama's hardon for offshore banks, I don't think he would want to get back into this business. Starting an epass-like business is 100x harder today than it was 7 years ago.

what staff? and what are their emails? they only provided one email. it kinda sucks and to be honest i feel betrayed, even by michael.I am starting to doubt if he really was clueless of what is going on. His statement that once this settle he will find different job was a giveaway clue that I should take more seriously but clues were there all the time..if it wasnt for his calming and positive messages i would have taken my money out by different means already. those of us who didnt want to "take the money and run" for not to sink the company made a mistake. loyal to the end and royaly screwed. i guess i should have known better after being screwed by adult profit and rehabdollars...the lesson here is that if there is smoke there is fire - take your fucking money at the first chance and run...

I dont even think epass has enough money to give us all our money back...

I hope at least i can get my visa money out tomorrow..

Yeh. Because there is no many alternatives. Not many institutions wish to work with adult.

adult-help 10-04-2010 09:02 PM

oh and one more thing: isnt the timing strange again? Tmr the visa functionality will be turned on again and today we get "epass is closing" message. I might be stretching things here but what if epass closed doors so they would not need to restore their wallet to vv functionality again? I mean the bank could easily open a one way (wallet to vv) link between them and epass so we could all transfer money to our vv accounts.

since i believe epass doesn't even have enough money to pay us all back they dont like this solution so they just closed the doors since they would have no excuses anymore. This way most of us wont get back any money anyway - we have people here waiting for a month and not getting a replies, yet alone wires...

Just a thought though...the timing really is weird ;)

oh and Michael, it is over now, you can spill the beans now, it would be only fair :)

I'm not surprised by ePassport behaviour here, but by alleged porn industry i-know-it-all peeps who celebrated ePass for years until today, when they scream at ePass ppl and by porn industry million-dollar corps who passed from ePass to a similar thingy with the astonishing "ePass is dead? we're proud to introduce a similar thingy" statement.

For the first ones: ePass clearly stated on their Tos and signup page that you needed a US cheque bank account in order to use the service; they never spoke about other options on their site, they never officially offered the abused have-someone-to-load-your-account option in order to get approved; they said that everybody who was emailing them, but they did that clearly breaking their own Tos. Now, you're surprised that Visa cut them off? Ever thought of the possibility that all this happened because they were breaking their own in-house rules and that those rules were a conditio sine qua non imposed by Visa in first place?

And about the second ones...why a multi-million corp wouldn't allow a wire transfer and would rather use ePass, a similar thingy and very dangerous stuff like that, even if you offered to pay wire transfer fees in full? I love it when the adult industry tries to be ahead of the mainstream one, but when it comes to money and the money that we are talking about is my money, the adult industry should stop behaving Star Trek and Alice in Wonderland and should rather do Business instead of feeding ppl with doubts and fear.

Too easy to cry after; much easier to prevent before.

beta-tester 10-04-2010 09:49 PM

i'm really sad to see this happening... but we all saw it once the link between epass and the bank was definitely cut off on sept 23rd.

It's a big loss to this industry as a whole and another reason to get out and find more profitable and stable job asap.

I hope I'll get my VISA money through the bank and I'll be gone for good.

RIP epass... :(

WiredGuy 10-04-2010 09:59 PM

Lack of revenue and circumstances beyond our control? Wasn't epassporte's core business p2p money transfers? It sounds from the closure notice that the virtual visa was the primary source of revenues. Something doesn't seem right here to me, losing a secondary revenue source is one thing, but to shut down the entire business? Odd to me.
