I disagree with you 100%.

There is no such thing as "Alcoholism". That is nothing more than a name/label that keeps you suppressed. How ridiculous would that same formula sound applied to everything else? Aspirin-a-holic, Cough Syrup-a-holic, Tylenol-a-holic, ad infinitum. There are only 2 sides of the coin and one edge, and the same is true in this case too.

Your choices include:

Drink
Don't drink

and everything else in between.

Excellent post and spot on!

yeah that about sums it up. :1orglaugh

I am much happier in control of my life! I don't drink at all, not even a glass of wine.

See the thing is too down here in New Orleans, everybody drinks all the time. It isn't a good place for those who don't drink. In fact the only people who really do not drink are the sick, really old, and young. And even the old people get wild every once and a while. It's a bad place to be if you don't want to be around it. :upsidedow

Yes,

I've done it.
I used to have a fucking serious drinking problem - like a HUGE one, been through rehab, AA and the works.
Years later I drink once every couple of months, and don't even really enjoy it like I used to.

Amputate Your Head 10-15-2010 12:59 PM

50 cocktails.

Yeah I will never enjoy it like I used to. Another reason why I will probably never drink again. I see too many people around me with nothing else in their life thinking that drinking is the greatest thing ever.

yeah see that is nice, but they just don't drink like that down here. They drink first, then eat later.

more like box of wine for lunch or before dinner. :1orglaugh

:helpme

I hope this isn't one fletch's soon to be causes of the week. Is he going to bash people who drink then become an alcoholic and say drinking is fine ??

Ron2k1 10-15-2010 05:51 PM

I drink 6 bottles of beer daily on average (one sixpack)
