Zardoz yes!

Alright all of those original films you listed are good except Judge Dredd, but none of them compare to Blade Runner.

As someone already mentioned, Blade Runner is in a class by itself and probably on alot of top ten greatest films ever made lists.

more dystopia flicks-
Robo Cop
Road Warrior
Predator 2
THX 1138
Soylent Green

funny how blade runner was seen as a failure when it first came out.

I was going to mention Legend but I was afraid it might be too fantasy.

Seriously, Legend is also one of my favorite movies, right up with Blade Runner.

But take this piece of advice- don't waste your time with the directors cut. Director's cut of Blade Runner- Good, director's cut of Legend- awful.

It has the Tangerine Dream score totally stripped out and a thick, classical, fairy tale score in its place. I guess the classical soundtrack was Scott's original intention, but it changes the entire mood of the picture. Sometimes editors are right, and this is a perfect example.

Out of your list, Blade Runner hands down for me.

5th fucking Element. President Lindberg will kick anyone's ass who thinks differently!

fiddy. Oh, and a couple that others mentioned, Serenity and Dark City are nice too. 5th Element though is one of a very few movies where if it's on TV, my natural instinct is to change the channel to it and watch it the rest of the way regardless of what I was watching or thinking of watching.

I loved Total Recall as a kid. I tried watching it recently and fell asleep pretty quickly...which is my way of measuring how good something really is.

youre crazy, i agree 5th element is really good but i watched total recall again a few months back and i fucking love it. It has that great adventure movie feeling combined with raw bloody violence i really enjoy it everytime i watch it...

As usual, you're "into the know"...

While I like Blade Runner, and it was a movie ahead of its time. I have to give the nod to 5th Element, for the simple fact that whenever its on, no matter how many times I have seen it, if its on, I will always watch it. It could be from the very beginning.. or just that last 15 mins. (that for me is the test of a good movie) It's also the only movie that Chris Tucker is mildly tolerable in.

michael.kickass 10-25-2010 06:58 AM

I can't make up my mind between Blade Runner and Total Recall.
