Wow what a body.:thumbsup:thumbsup

Easy ways for an average guy to save money:

Don't use credit cards.
Don't eat out.
Get rid of your cable bill.
Buy a used car not new.

Really want to sock away some money? Create a sharebuilder account or similar. Set it to auto deduct from your checking whatever amount you are comfortable with. Set it to auto buy a stock/fund of your choice every time your savings reaches a certain level. I recommend picking a stock like ADP, solid returns, solid dividends or if you want to be more cautious buy a basket of stocks or a fund. Once its set sit back and go about your normal routine. Eventually you will adjust your spending habits and you won't even miss the money you are saving.

I know a lot of rich people drive old cars.

People make them selves poor by often buying very expencive cars they cannot afford.

I often chat to people who cannot understand that just becase your rich does not mean you need to spend millions on a car. Those who are not rich presume if you are rich you MUST show it off.

Its probably why most lottery winners blow there cash in a short time.

One thing to note that in the UK public transport is very expensive. Its cheaper to buy a car than get a train. Ie, you could by a decent sencond hand car for about £500 (I got my car for £180 - see www.skrapcar.com). Now to get a train ticket from Leeds to London it can cost easily over £90. In a small car you can do it for £40 in fuel. So if say 5 of you go from Leeds to London, it works out cheaper to buy a car. If it only lasts you a month and breaks down its still cheaper (plus you get £200 for the car for scrap).

The key is to think of things you buy as cash clever. For instance a house will probably not loose much cash, and often will increase in value. So it makes sense yto buy. And buy a nice one in a nice place.

But if you spend $400 on a pair of jeans, what is the point? Often its just to make you feel 'big' when you buy them. 'Look at me, I can afford $400 jeans'. Its rather silly.

The thing to remember is that the 'bulk' of people will want to look rich, by spending all there cash of goods they do not need. They will often run out and try any get rich scheme they can thats going (such as in the UK buying flats to rent out - then the mAarket crashd). The key is not to be one of those but to make money of those types.

Like the average guy is worried about buying a fucking mansion. If anything, this article show how out of touch with reality these guys are.

I would say its about your state of mind.

If you run a business you look after the pennies.

We have (in my family) an old story.

My nans dad (my great grandad) was wealthy.

But he saved money.

One of his tricks was (as I was told) is that if somone came for teahe would fill up a cup of water and pour it into the kettel. So if 4 people wanted a cup of tea, he would poor in 4 cups of water. So he never boiled any more water than was going to drink.

Now you may say, are they daft. If your rich why not spend it.

Well often these people are rich from investing there cash. And thats often how they see cash, as an investment. So while you may go out for a pizza, that rich chap will think, is the pizza a good investment. He will probably think, while its true I could make it at home for less, by the time I do it will cost me a lot of time. Conclusion, its fine to buy the pizza.

Often too, you find rich people are self made. Often they had no cash as a child so they see buying say a pair of jeans at say $400 somthing wrong.

Also often I suspect they feel no need to show off there cash. It shows they are secure in themselves.

Though it has to be pointed out that 'showing your wealth' in the USA is sort of part of the environment. Ie, that odd looking chap who does the usa appentace has an office all in gold. No one with any taste in the UK would ever have a room like that. When he showed off that vile gold table I cringed.

This post is stupid.. What's the point of being a fucking billionaire if you're going to live like the average joe?

Having said that I wouldn't go overboard like having 35 servants running around and shit, but I definitely wouldn't try to save money on fucking clothes, what the fuck, you're a fucking BILLIONAIRE FFS.

I've seen people dressed scruffily go into a car dealership and then get really stroppy because they can afford anything in the showroom for cash but can't understand the sales staff don't pay them any attention as they look like they can't afford their next meal.

There is also a proverb which says"millionaires drives Lamborghini, billionaires drives 10000$ car"
