how does having a friend at raytheon make it a VERY good possibility this was a test?

Is your friend sharing national security details with you?

I said they are working on a SLBM project. If it is theirs it is only a test.

Again, I said if it is them they are testing out stuff for their SLBM project.
It's on youTube. They aren't exactly concerned about people knowing they are testing it.

:1orglaugh Good point.

tests of this sort require public announcement.

not a test.

Raytheon Demonstrating Submarine Launched AIM-9X

Raytheon tests all the time. This one is from 2006. I was simply listing possibilities. I am not saying it WAS them.

I hope it is Chinese fireworks. These seem to be missiles for the purpose of beautiful decoration.

do you really think the government can get away with firing off intercontinental ballistic missiles willy-nilly? how on earth would anyone know whether or not it's carrying a payload?

there's no such thing as a signal a foreign country can send out that pings the icbm and comes back with a "it's not loaded" message.

KrissyElise 11-09-2010 06:44 PM

I never said there was anything that sends a ping indicating whether there is a payload or not.

Bottom line:
I believe it is a SLBM.
Raytheon in Los Angeles is working on a SLBM project.
The aforementioned act does not say it needs to be a public service announcement that notifies it says that the notification must be sent through a Nuclear Risk Reduction Center.
The aforementioned act does not say that the public must be notified.

This is my opinion. I am not saying it is a fact.

dyna mo 11-09-2010 06:47 PM

what is the aforementioned act? the treaty i posted? that's simply an example showing there are checks & balances in the world re: launching these weapons. and those checks & balances are even more rigorous for the private sector.

KrissyElise 11-09-2010 06:57 PM

I have seen the treaty and voiced my opinion.

Please tell me why you think it is a contrail.

WiredGuy 11-09-2010 07:01 PM

i'm guessing it's a contrail. it does not appear to me that there's enough of an ignition flame coming off it imo to be a missile.

not saying it's not a missile, but if it was, it was launched in error.

KrissyElise 11-09-2010 07:03 PM

Great. Now we have both voiced our opinion.
Fair enough.

I'm just guessing, but I suspect he thinks its a contrail because he's not completely insane.
