the winners yesterday, and my pick for nfc :thumbsup |
You eagles fans must be half retarded. I mean. Congratulate yourselves on how many times in a row you have beat the Giants. please remember. The giants have won 3 superbowls. How many have the eagles won? ZERO. If you are happy with almost getting there all the time. You must be eagles fans. Because Giants fans are only happy with winning a superbowl. I mean. Isn't that the point to play the whole year? You guys are in the same position as the Giants are this year. Except the eagles played one more game. You get zero every year and are excited about how many times since 2008 you beat the Giants? Well welcome to real life, and remember the Giants were champs atleast once in the last 3 decades while fat Andy Reid can't get past the playoff jinx.
Yes, Philly has beaten the giants a bunch in the last couple of years, and the last loss was a complete embarrassment. But what about the record that Philly has NEVER won a superbowl? You guys remind me of Jets fans. Straight up delusional. |
wow.... bad boy....

when the fact is, your team hasnt even made the playoffs in 2 years. |

all i know is i'd rather make it to the playoffs, then not. oh, and get rid of Eli, maybe you'd have a decent team then. Hakeem nicks needs someone who can actually throw the ball to him |

New England Patriots were undefeated for an entire season and the entire playoffs. About to be the second team in the history of this league to do so. But NO. It did not happen. BECAUSE THE GIANTS WON. THIS WAS 2007. not 20 and 24 years ago. The rings are still shining buddy. |

Alky, this obviously shows you are not an avid football fan. So I now do not blame you anymore for your stupidity. When you go back the stats and see the Giants won a few years ago. It will be ok for you to apologize. As I am apologizing right now for not realizing you are not a real football fan, so how would you know this.
Sorry. |

Right. I said they won one in each of the last 3 decades. If you do the math the other way around. It is perfect for Philly fans 3-2-1=ZERO HAHAHAHA |

Now, on to Superbowls and Championships. If history is what you want to evaluate, then perhaps you should take into consideration Philadelphia's history before the Superbowls began. Especially since the Giants were a part of the same league. The Eagles won three NFL Championships, in 1948, 1949 and 1960. The Giants also won three NFL Championships (technically 4, but the first one was not a championship game, but merely having the best record at the end of the season). So, overall that has the Giants winning 6 Championship Games, Philadelphia winning 3 Championship Games. Through the history, yes, the Giants have more overall championships. But to claim that the Eagles have never won a championship, or are never a championship caliber team is false. Personally, I live in the now, so all that history doesn't mean much to me. I care about what my team has done in the past couple of years, what they're doing now, and how they do in the near future. Edit: Doing multiple things at once, so that took me awhile to post. I intended to post it immediately after the post I quoted. I missed the ensuing pissing battle while typing. Even so, my post applies. |
maybe next year you guys can shoot for winning the nfc east, that'll be a good goal.

I never said that philly is not a championship caliber team. In one of my posts I even stated that it might be possible that the Eagles have made the playoffs more then the Giants. I do not know the stats though. My point is, going to the playoffs and beating the giants so many times does not count. I wasn't pointing it at you, but obviously at Alki. I can respect your knowledge of the game, as he obviously does not have. Philly is always a contender. With that said. It is all about the trophy. |

I even stated earlier that they are a good team... minus Eli. |
Oh and Hakeem Nicks is a fucking beast...

Oh, and the playoff question: Philadelphia Eagles: Playoff appearances (23) NFL: 1947, 1948, 1949, 1960, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 New York Giants: Playoff appearances (30) NFL: 1933, 1934, 1935, 1938, 1939, 1941, 1943, 1944, 1946, 1950, 1956, 1958, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1981, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 :upsidedow |

I am a realist. But what is real as you said, is in this day and age. The NFL trophy is the one that matters. No one cares how many playoffs games you win, or how you almost won. It is about winning. That is the bottom line I am trying to give to Alky here. If the giants had went 14-2 the last couple of season and the only team they lost to in all the years was the eagles. What difference would it make? Its all about the trophy! |

This weekend of playoffs was pretty amazing. The only higher seed that won was one of the two that weren't expected to win (Seahawks and KC). So 3 seed upsets and a 7-9 team upsetting.
I'd rather be an Eagles fan than a Chargers fan right now. We have some serious coaching issues to overcome and AJ is probably keeping Norv, so I'm actually not going to be that confident in them going into next season even with Mathews likely improving with a year under his belt. We'll suck ass in the first half and try to bust ass down the stretch and either barely make it in or miss the playoffs, and then something bad will happen if we do manage to make the playoffs (we do after all still have the kicker that missed 3 FGs in a playoff game). Such a fucking waste of talent we have. If Rivers keeps going the way he is, he could end up one of the greatest QBs ever to not sniff a Super Bowl game. That said, I'm glad we have him and not that pouty little bitch we traded for him regardless of who has the ring. |
