Top 10 Greatest TV Theme Songs (post yours)

I find TV Themes to be very relaxing and soothing. Originally posted in MP's thread https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1024836 I thought I would expand the idea of TV Themes.

This is an actual playlist I came up with after listening to many TV Themes. It is designed to soothe and reinvigorate. :winkwink:

in an order designed to sound best..

My fav is prob MTM, (so inspirational to me) followed by Charlies Angels (great sound and feel) and then Taxi.

All of them must soothe and/or reinvigorate. :) That is the #1 prerequisite of a truly good TV Theme.

Coming up... my choice for the best TV Themes 11-20 of all time! All your requests, including a few requested by the always cordial (you know him, you love him) Mister Peabody. :)

And yes! The Love Boat Theme will make 11-20. :) Love that. Very TV Theme teriffic! :)

I am still open on 11-20. In fact MP reminded me of the orig Tonight Show Theme which is a good contender for 11-20.

Also the Addams Family and The Munsters are in strong contention.

What is your fav TV Theme of all time? :)

:thumbsup Yeah there are so many. I barely tapped the 80's and I am certainly interested in all TV Themes up through the 2000's. I stopped watching some newer TV shows but I still like the themes many times.

TV Themes are usually very well done as they must represent the TV show and many old Themes had really classic writers and composers like Henry Mancini (Love Boat - dont hold me to that :) ) and great stuff like that.

Plus TV is fun :) and TV Themes only last 1 min which makes them fun and easy to listen to.

a little while ago I had Nick At Night on and Full House came on. Holy hell that intro if fucking long, had to be 2 minutes :1orglaugh

I bought a few DVD sets of old shows from the late 80's and early 90's that I used to watch... kind of regret it now :1orglaugh

I don't have a cool youtube video to put in here but all of us will probably always recognize it when the drum starts at our favorite prison camp, stalag 13. Yes Hogan's Heroes isn't all that soothing but it is one theme song that always get's recognized.

Vjo 06-01-2011 12:00 AM

I see Youtube sometime does not allow embedding on site even tho they allow the pic to appear and provide embed code. duh!

Which happened to one of mine ( I noticed and replaced it) and to your Gilligans Island LedZep..

so kindly allow me.. want to hear that one :)

happened again.. (3 times, to 3 better versions.. DAMN I hate when that happens, cmon YT how am I supposed to entertain the folks if you are f'n up :) ) seems to be the top vid on YT with lots of views it happens to.. trying again

4th times a charm :) except black and white :disgust

You got it man :thumbsup One of the best TV series for sure. It was religion back in the day. I knew some guys who watched it over and over. "I know Nothing!" :)

Pseudonymous 06-01-2011 12:20 AM

I like The Black Keys

Vjo 06-01-2011 12:24 AM

BTW, I fig it out.. I was just grabbing code without checking if it was embeddable.. duh! :) thus the error. My bad. :)

OK r u ready? :) I am gonna start laying some really good shiiiiite on ya. :)

OK lets go waaaaay back.. this was a goody... and yes Lorne Green actually visited my small midwestern hometown in about 1970. :) There was a parade on Memorial Day and Lorne Green was there. He was the main man for that day. Promotional tour I think. :)

:thumbsup Good stuff. Very nicely done theme. I like when the chick looks at him as he walks by. :)

OK forget that 11-20 stuff. There are just too many. Instead I'll just post a few more of what I think are well done (mostly older I admit) TV Themes. :)

let's get it over..

exciting and new :)

come aboard, we're expecting you :)

Personally I feel this could have made my orig top 10 as this has all of what a good theme should have.. and Julie. :)

Edit: I see Jaclyn Smith was in this ep... MP :) From the other thread where MP confessed his love. :)

[*youtube*]DF34efc32[/*youtube]

Obviously leave out the *'s

DF34efc32 = The series of letters and numbers in the URL of the video that start after the equals sign

BruceM 06-01-2011 01:07 AM

Well, here are 5 that haven't been posted:

Vjo 06-01-2011 01:17 AM

still no good embeddable GI in color

Ginger or Maryanne?

I used to say Ginger, then Maryanne, now back to Ginger, except the real Maryanne likes to blow herb which at her age is pretty cool :)

remember the Honey Bees :)

What did I do wrong?

I said obviously you have to remove the *'s.

Take out each of the "*" and post again

I put them in there so it didn't post a youtube video and you could see the code

Vjo 06-01-2011 01:34 AM

(youtube)3ITx3XOxjw4(/youtube)

got to go with the 11th doctors theme

btw if you want to make a speech really pop

practise it with the theme song playing in the background

once you get the timing to match the tempo your speech will actually sound more impressive.
