Pics from last week's vacation in Tennessee

I need to give special thanks to 3XTom and fam for inviting us to join the family for a week on their floating house in TN. This was one of the best vacations I have ever had and it truly sucks that it's now over. That being said, the memories will last a lifetime. We can't wait until next time. :)

The weather was pretty varied. I've never seen storms like the ones that came through. At one point, the sunny sky turned from blue to dark gray in under 2 minutes and we watched as a thunder storm raced across the lake and brought a massive vertical rain shower with it. The winds were blowing furniture off the deck but 10 minutes later things calmed down and we were soaking in the hot tub watching the 360 degree views of lightning in the surrounding hills.

Up at 5:30 every morning for some fishing then back to the house for breakfast. Back out for more fishing, return for lunch. Switch boats and head out for wake boarding, tubing, etc...Switch boats again for more fishing...Then dinner, more fishing, swimming, etc... No cell phone and no Internet access.

All of the experiences were amazing and I can not think of better people to share those moments with. The only regret I have is not taking more pics around the lake. :disgust

Of course, any trip to Tennessee requires a stop in Lynchburg to visit my good friend Jasper.

Cool pics. I hear old whiskey barrels make great vessels to brew soy sauce. Did they have any old barrels for sale that you noticed? Thanks for sharing the pics.

StuartD 06-28-2011 09:03 AM

So how much JD did you end up packing to take home?

Very awesome pics tho, as always!

Karupted Charles 06-28-2011 09:04 AM

Looks like an awesome trip man. To bad your flight was into Ohio instead of Detroit.

The Barrel Store in Lynchburg has used J.D. barrels for sale. They also make a ton of furniture and other products from them.

And of course After bringing Aaron into my part of the woods ( literally )
he proceeds to stomp my ass fishing by not only catching more fish but also
catching the LARGEST one as well... :winkwink:

So very glad we got to spend some much needed time relaxing on the porch
and NOT talking about the interwebs

Looks like you rock Keens as well. Had a similar looking pair for over 2 years now and they're still going strong but have a deadly funk to them, lol.

3xTom 06-28-2011 09:32 AM

Norris Lake ... And is there anything else but walleye? :)

I've had those Keens for at least 4 or 5 years and they are still running strong. I scrub them down every 3 months or so to avoid the stank. :winkwink:

HardlinkSells 06-28-2011 10:41 AM

I love it here. I live in seymour. Between knoxville and the smoky mountains. I have been up to norris lake multiple times and douglas every other weekend.

If anyone ever comes up here hit me up and ill bring out the jet skis and beer.

It isn't fun until you have tried fishing on a jet ski. Pretty hard to do. Never caught a fish though.
