those reports are funny. i don't know anyone whose paid for song since napster. maybe the odd person will buy some itunes.
they are not suppressed, similar ones are released a few times every year. |
I buy CDs all the time. I just picked up the entire Iron Maiden discography, actually.

Haha... type "Society for Consumer Research" in google.
Results found = 0 what a shocker... NOT! Obviously a real organization with some credibility and not the propaganda of a bunch of thieving assholes. |

true story: a friend of a friend of mine used to run a pretty larger server to supply movies and content. you had to pay a monthly premium and you could download as much as you want.
turns out he got busted and got shafted pretty hard. big fines and did some jail time. wife left him and took his kids. lost his house and his parents wouldnt let him move back in with them. never was worth it IMO to go through that, so since then Ive always purchased what I wanted. probably spent $1,000's in iTunes and on movies but at the end of the day, I can sleep at night :winkwink: |
I buy a lot of liquor so stealing some beer is ok now! Great news!

it allows you to listen to songs for free so you could decide what songs you liked and buy those artist albums there are a lot of people like my self who use the torrents just like a radio and btw live in a country with a piracy tax which totally legalizes that "choice" |
if all people who pirate shit would pay for it - there would be no issue with piracy.
the way it works now 1 pirate out of 1000s pays, distributes it and lets freeloaders ride the bandwagon for free without them paying into it. |

I used to record songs off the radio when I was a kid, but would eventually buy the real cassette since it sounded better and was more convenient, etc. No reason to do that anymore with lossless digital copies. |

I see d/l'ing as a natural progression from back in the day when you had a boom box, and when you heard a song you liked, you hit record on your cassette.

Oooh, a survey conducted with downloaders
Now that's a survey guaranteed to be full of honest answers. |

canada supreme court has recognized this payment as the fulfilment of a contract that legalizes p2p music trading like the royalties legalize the radio there are other country which have a wider piracy tax |

that the percentage of people who were given the song and were convinced to buy a song (including in many cases the song they already got) because of a reason you believe doesn't exist. |
gideon has advanced tracking mechanism, he has all these precise stat numbers, who buys what, who downloads what, who subscribes to what, who licenses what, who converted after, all throughout the world, from all places, sites and people! its 53% legit use of torrents he says, very precise mechanism!
but he can't track who the person was that made illegitimate download based on IP |
some people pay for stuff even if they are pirates lol :D

OT speaking of CDs they are far from top audio quality

but these were UNKNOWN artist so that shift is minimal at best. |
regarding downloads:
you cannot successfully claim who are legitimate users and who are not. until there will be some sort of license validating mechanism for all people and all content, your stats are simply pulled out of thin air. don't even know how the fuck you end up talking about artists in reply to my comment regarding your 83% in particular: > that the percentage of people who were given the song and were convinced to buy a song how can you know this???? lets say there is person X gave song to person Z, they don't report this to anyone, how do you know they shared something and if person Z bought this song after all or not? hows your 83% account for millions people who you have know idea what they share and what they buy and how you correlate this unknown sharing number with buying numbers? |
laugh out mother fucking loud.
If tube views created sales, everyone on this board would be a billionaire. LOL LOL LOL. |

2. you don't know how to pull the logs off public trackers 3. your too stupid to realize that while an ip address is not a person, it can be counted 4. sales can be counted 5. sales /ip count can give you a percentage. |

Radio stations pay royalties to ASCAP and BMI. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCAP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_Music,_Inc. You wouldn't be a pirate if you paid royalties. You really don't know as much as you think you do. :2 cents: |
