Atheists use 'Unholy' Water to 'Unbless' Highway

Now I've heard it all! Frustrated by the fact that religious leaders
blessed a portion of highway in Florida, a group of atheists decided
to "unbless" the road. Armed with scrubbers and a large container of
"unholy" water, the group sought to wash away the work done by the
Polk County organization known as Polk Under Prayer.

Sounds like they are believers of religion. Then there would be no need of "unblessing" or of such thing if they didn't believed in the first place.

By unholy water they mean water. I really don't get religous people. All religion preaches love for your fellow man but they act exact opposite way. here is an interesting note stehpan hawkin was recently quoted saying "god is not neccesary". meaning he believes the universe can come into existence without a supreme being.

thats the difference between atheists and christians, they arent trying to convert you, they are trying to bring awareness nowhere did I see anyone ask you to sign up and try come to your house, atheists dont do door to door methods.

The atheist person said it was about symbolically welcoming EVERYone into the county rather than just christians.

In reply the church person called the atheist message negative, complained about the atheists attacking the christian message, and talked about them wanting to obliterate free speech they dont agree with.

As a nonreligious individual I don't care if people perform certain actions that they think or pretend will bestow certain 'magical/divine/...' characteristics upon an object. Personally I think the whole idea of spending time and resources on raising awareness about the silliness of certain harmless customs is just as silly as those customs themselves.

Here are the only quotes from the parties themselves. The rest of the article is opinion, so I'll leave it at this and just say that neither party should have been concerned one iota about what the other did. If the atheists did their thing first, I also wouldnt have cared.
