She has a good voice and sings songs that a popular demographic can relate to.. people love the fact that she doesn't look like a model too.. so you combine these together...

Easily the best singer around right now, her songs are effortless to her, yes they are depressing for the most part but listen to her voice and you can't say she is a bad singer. She is very annoying but for me, that voice is amazing.

When I first consider music, I don't listen too closely to lyrics, especially ballads, so I have no idea what she is singing about. I generally only pay attention to lyrics of songs that I like the melody to.

Looks aside, I find Adele's melodies mostly bland and boring. :2 cents:

How in the world do you know who I know? What I said stands as is. She's only 23 with a 4 yr career and has already won 9 Grammys. I'm not really a fan of her music, but to imply she's simply just an "ok" singer is laughable.
